Hi,
I'm curious about Homeopathy. I have read through much of the information available at http://www.homeoinfo.com But to be perfectly honest, I didn't understand very much
Can anyone shed some light on this topic. Or perhaps share experiences of success/failure with homeopathic treatments.
Your assistance will be much appreciated.
Thanks

| I have been using homeopathy for about 18yrs with much success. It would be too hard to explain in a few words - your best bet is to go out and buy an intro book (check your library first). The big thing is to avoid mint (it negates the remedies) and to stick with lower potencies (30C), being careful not to repeat the remedy too frequently (taking a remedy too frequently might make your symptoms temporaily worse - I've done it and it is no fun). Finding the right remedy can be hard - sometimes I can figure it out on my own but other times I have paid for a homeopath (not cheap but worth it). |

The basic concept of homeopathic medicine is quite sound and used in regular allopathic (pharmeceutical) medicine in a few areas.
Basically, homeopathic remedies are like taking a bit of vodka to cure a hangover. You know the saying, take a bit of the hair of the dog that bit you? Same thing with homeopathic medicine. You take a tiny tiny bit of a compound, sometimes an actual poison, to help the body identify what needs to be done and react appropriately. In small doses, many poisons are curatives.
The problem with homeopathy is the practitioners don't study other forms of healing and don't admit that some illnesses are best treated in other ways. But then every practitioner tends to have that same problem.
It's a bit difficult to do yourself because the recommendations are so very vague. The only ones I recommend that people keep on hand in their "alternative medicine chest" are the ones for cold/flu.
An easier method of self-medicating are Flower Essences. They have no side-effects and cannot adversely react to anything else, and you can easily determine what you need via kinesiology.
