I am 6’2” and I weighed about 225 lbs. In the last month I have lost 10-13 lbs through dieting.
Nothing strange as far as diet goes. I cut my portions in half, so now I am eating recommended serving sizes. Maybe eating more raw vegetables and gave up processed foods.
I started hiking 2 days ago and each time I hike I lose about 1.5-2 lbs. I have heard you should only lose 1-2 pounds a week. If I am developing muscle through pull-ups and dips along with the hiking is it ok to lose weight faster?
Also, will the weight loss slow down? I cannot imagine dropping 2 lbs every time I go hiking.
I am not worried about gaining weight back, but I don’t want to get that loose skin. |

Make sure you're drinking adequate fluids. Rapid weight loss is usually NOT tissue, but fluids. We can lose two pounds of fluids a day easily through exercise and exposure to the elements. Also, you are getting much less fluids by cutting out calories, as food always gives us water too through digestion and assimilation.
I promote a two pound a week limit to weight loss, but of course it depends on how much you weigh and exercise. Two pounds a week is a very safe loss, shouldn't cause unsightly sagging.
Figure out how much you want to weigh and eat the appropriate calories for that weight. For instance, if you want to weigh 180 pounds, you should be able to eat 1800 calories a day no problem if your liver is clean, 2200 if you exercise. Any extra weight you lose through exercise should be safe weight loss. |

Thanks.
My weight loss seems to have slowed down.
How did you know I wanted to weigh 180? |

It's the right weight for that build and that height. Easy peasy. |

Steady at 202.
After this week I plan on hitting the trail again. About 22 lbs to go. |
