I have a question...I know too many sugary sweets including biscuits and chocolate is bad for your digestion and therefore bad for your skin. The thing that I don't understand is that when I eat healthily such as today; I didn't overeat, I took digestive enzymes with all of my meals which were eaten individually, eggs, fruit and salad however I cheated in the night and ate biscuits and chocolate (a lot of it ) however my stomach felt so settled after I ate the 'bad" stuff, yet when I ate the healthy food I was burping ages after I finished eating and had some intestinal gurgling. Whats the deal??? Im finding it hard to stay motivated to eating healthy when I notice these conflicting signs. I can only assume that because I've always eaten a lot of sweets, my stomache was lulled into a false sense of security after receiving the familiar sweets when all these foreign (read: healthy) foods were invading it all day..lol I don't know I'm at a loss for an explanation so that will have to suffice until someone with knowledge answers my post. Thanks! |

That's how addiction works, whether you're addicted to drugs or sugar: the "bad" symptoms die down when you ingest your addiction! Until you stop the cycle of addiction you can't always trust what your body does. And you won't get as many digestive upsets after eating right all day! Even if eating right causes burping. When you get that pesky burping drink peppermint tea, or eat peppermint candies, it does wonders.
Some healthy foods are very hard to digest, you have to learn the difference. For me, any raw vegetables can cause gurgling and burping, or anything high in fats, even good fats. Nuts are always very difficult. |
