Petit Mal Seizure

My family has recently discovered that my mom has been having "petit mal" seizures for the past decade. These are seizures where the person just seems to "check out" for a little while, maybe appearing to drop off to sleep. But I'm wondering if there's a common cause of these kinds of seizures or what we can do to try and resolve them. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

She should get tested for heavy metals toxicity - hair analysis, etc.

Analyze her diet for these imbalances: Low Vitamin B6, low magnesium, low potassium, way too high or too low sodium.
