I've been eating this delicous organic smoked salmon.
Is it bad for us - the smoking process - does it create free radicals?(please say no! )
It's cured/smoked in a traditional way, only other ingredient salt. |

ah, I just did a search and found this from Shelley:
"Smoked fish is not great because it often has nitrates and nitrities, which are toxins"
Boo!
And there was me thinking I was being good, with all the lovely raw fish oils and good protein My skin seemed to be liking it too.
So, how often can I eat smoked salmon, or should it be never? If I eat it, anything I can do to mitigate the effects of the toxins?
Thanks! |

| smoked salmon is a fun treat, since we tend to only eat an ounce or so. Make it a rare treat. Try to eat regular fresh or frozen salmon, preferably wild, as often as possible. That's a super-food. |
