| the saukraut is very expensive. and if i to make a choice of only kefir or only saurekraut which would be the most beneficial? |

hmm... it's cheapest to make them rather than buy them. It's easiest to make saeurkraut, all you need is cabbage and salt and something to pound it with. Very cheap! So how about, as a compromise, buy commercial kefir for now, make saeurkraut, and consider buying kefir grains to make your own someday soon?
Kefir is best for populating the gut with friendly flora, but the lactic acid in Saeurkraut is great for helping the friendly flora, killing the baddies, and overall healing and balancing the intestines. |

i guess i will try making the saurkraut?

| you mean a scale? Don't need one. You just need a jar with a very tight lid, and a good salt, preferably one that is not iodized. Either sea salt or kosher salt will do best. Kosher is cheaper. I really prefer the Cortido recipe for the spices, and using Napa cabbage instead of the traditional cabbage. napa is sweeter and softer and makes more juice. |
