I tried the 'O' group diet before and it worked very well for me. Made me lean and feel good. But I don't think that much meat is good generally.
I think the reason why I did well on it was becasue of the no dairy/wheat thing. |

Being an "O", all that meat turns me off so I haven't tried it. When I gave the South Beach diet a try two years ago for two weeks, I was exhausted and had no energy (though I did lose weight) -- I'd probably do it if I were a type "A" or some type that could eat food I want to eat. |

The Blood Type Diets are intersting.
Pros: they give you a list to work off of, so you can use kinesiology to test all the foods they recommend and not go crazy testing everything.
Cons:
We have evolved and adapted to our food sources in many ways that cannot all be identified by blood types.
No single diet is appropriate every day of every year of our life. Diets should cycle.
the diet does not pass the test of what a good diet is because it does not cycle and it prohibits foods that are really very good for people.
Type O diets are fantastic for rebuilding, lousy for healing. Anyone who is over 40 and keeps to a Type O or Atkins or South Beach diet for years is risking bone loss and kidney failure and eventually obesity, because high-protein diets are building diets. They make you lose at first but not over time. Atkins was 80 pounds overweight when he died after being in a coma for 10 days. |

| I'm an 'O' and definately agree with Shelley - NOT a good diet for healing. For example, ACV is supposed to be an avoid for me, yet I am so much better for taking it (at this time), likewise, St. Johns Wort has helped me in the past. I do think that I do well on SOME meat, but don't think that's exclusive to 'O' types. Also, coconut oil is an avoid for all blood types, and although I believe in moderation in all things, I can't see why it needs to be avoided by all. Saying that, I'm a lot better off without wheat and diary. |

Yes, his stance against wheat makes a lot of sense, but his stance against coconut oil, seeing as how so many tribal peoples have been thriving on it for centuries, makes NO sense. Same with ACV.
Like any other diet out there, what usually helps people is the fact that they become more conscious of whole foods and more conscientious of leaving out highly processed foods. It's not so much what they eat but what they are no longer eating that makes them feel better. |
