Sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum, wasn't sure where to put this but I really need your advice!
Please help! I've finally managed to get rid of cortison and other medicins by changing to paleolithic low carb diet high in omega 3, My diet consists of a lot of coconut oil, fat fish and meat from free roaming animals, try to limit my meat and fish intake to 500 grams a day and eat quite a lot of far, limit my carbs to 50grams a day (about). Im so happy I dont need the medecins anymore (since 4 months now), Im still tired often, but it's better then before. The problem is Ive started to get problems with digestion. I get stomach acid in my mouth and have a soar "empty" feeling in my stomach, while the lower part of my stomach is burning. I tested the ph in my urine and it was 6,0! I've used basic mineral supplements containing calcium but Im not sure it helps...
Although Im a bit afraid to make big changes in my diet Ive decided to limit my protein intake even more and only eat 300 grams a day, instead more steamed vegetables and some more fruits. Meaning I will test eating more carbs (think my candida should be dead by now).
Please give me advice, is this a good start? Should I continue with the supplement? Not sure what its called in English but it contains magnesium and lime(?) among other basic minerals.
Anything special in foods I should or should not eat? Can it be bad to eat that much fat (the coconut oil, might eat 40-100 grams a day) I really dont need to lose weight..
This got me so confused since I already eat organic and "natural" foods, no sugar, diary, chemical stuff etc.. my friend adviced me to eat my meat ray, but I just can't
Really appreciate all the help I can get, thanks!! |

| Forgot to mention, it's ulcerus colitis that I used cortison for, it was not helping anymore when I changed to the paleo diet, and I had been admitted to the hospital twice by then, so this diet has been great for me in many ways, but I do need to get rid of this burning sensation in my stomach which I dont think is related to my disease, more my diet and digestion. :S |

| A liver cleanse would probably take care of eveything. Start with the Cleansing Cocktail or cleansing carrot salad if you can handle fiber, plus peppermint tea and ginger tea. If that helps you'll know you're on the right track. Be prepared for some upsets (worsensing of symptoms) as things shift about, however. That's also a good sign. |

Thanks very much for your response , I want to do a liver cleanse, but since my stomach needs to be more regular first I just started doing an intestinal cleanse now, so Ill be doing the liver cleanse when that's over with, in 2-months or so.
Not sure what the cleansing cocktail is, guess I can look it up here, but should I wait to take that the same day I do the liver cleanse or how do you mean? (allergic to carrot, and lots of other vegetables, but fiber seem to be ok). I have peppermint oil and drink it with warm water sometimes, but I heard that could make the reflux worse?
About the ph, I also tested the saliva (4 times) and it was 7,0-7,2, while the urine is still round 5,7-6,0.. heard that it's important that the urine is more sour then the saliva so that's a good sign atleast? |

Yes, peppermint can make reflux worse IF it is due to backflow and if your stomach is out of position due to bad posture or a prolapsed colon, which you probably do have - colitis will do that.
All of my recipes are in the FAQ.
It's important that urine exit digestive by-products, yes. People who aim for clean, alkaline urine are kidding themselves. If they're eating, they're supposed to be shedding acids. You can't bypass the laws of nature unless your objective is to die quicker. That's why I say it's pointless to measure the pH of one's urine.
The sooner you work on your liver the sooner you're symptoms will alleviate, so expecting them to get better without any liver cleansing isn't going to work. |
