Hi Shelley,
Quick question....I am doing a liver flush tonight. I tend to end up burping from the olive oil mixture and also getting very bad nausea in the middle of the night as well as the next morning. I usually take HCL Betaine with my high fat meals and am wondering if this is something I should do with the OO/GF drink.
Thanks,
Shawna |

HCL Betaine adds stomach acids. It won't necessarily help with the liver flush nausea, because that is all about having toxins sitting in the small intestine.
What tends to work better for people is to drink peppermint tea sometime before your flush, and after your dose of oil/juice, suck on hard peppermint candy like Altoids or Lifesavers. A heating pad or castor oil pack also helps. The peppermint adds acid, but it does more than that - it actually relaxes the small intestine so things don't "backflush" to the stomach and cleanses/soothes the liver. |
