So, I am finally to Stage 5 of the Vital Cleanse and I have not yet gone poop without an enema. This is driving me crazy. I've been doing the Vital Cleanse since October 9. Right now I am doing a 2-quart saltwater enema every three days. Sometimes I add aloe vera juice to the mix and try to hold it for a while.
Since Saturday, my days go like this:
6am Warm Cleansing Drink w/molasses or stevia and cayenne or not (I do 3 days with molasses and cayenne and 1 day with stevia and no cayenne); fish oil pills (this morning I skipped the Cleansing Drink and fo and had about 3/4 c. aloe vera juice instead)
7am Kefir smoothie w/1/4 c. each of blueberries and raspberries (this morning I just did digestive lassi instead, with a whole cup of organic plain yogurt - no fruit, no egg, no granulated lecithin, no NYF - took B complex instead); Digestive enzymes
8am Organic Peppermint Tea (I use one teabag and refill the cup once or twice throughout the morning)
10am Calcium/Magnesium chelate fizz (not the Bayberry brand of Cal/Mag Fizz and not the Ionic Fizz - I went through $25 worth of the Ionic Fizz in 2 weeks - not very economical!)
11:30am 1/2 Alternate Cleansing Drink (about 2 oz. unsweetened cranberry juice and 1/2 T. liquid chlorophyll in 8 oz. water); 1 Primal Defense Ultra
Sometime between noon and 1pm Kichadi w/veggies or Rice Pilaf w/aduki beans (I finally found them!) and veggies (alternate veggies - zucchini, yellow squash, green beans - I'm laying off carrots since I had them for about 2 weeks straight while doing Stage 2-4) (I add some coconut oil before heating these up); 1 T granulated lecithin; Digestive Enzymes
Between 2 and 4pm I refill my India Spice Tea once or twice.
4pm The other 1/2 of the Alternate Cleansing Drink; 1 Primal Defense Ultra
5pm Cal/Mag chelate fizz
Between 6pm and 7pm Morroccan Soup w/broccoli and celery (add coconut oil) or Cleansing Pasta w/tilapia and veggies (alternate veggies - see lunch); 1 T granulated lecithin; digestive enzymes
9pm Organic Peppermint Tea and 3 Triphala
Right before bed I take one more Primal Defense Ultra
I'm not sure what else to do at this point. Tonight I did two 2-quart enemas. The first one was just saltwater and the second one I added aloe vera juice. With the first one barely anything came out at first. I then prepared the second enema even though my stomach looked pregnant and I knew I had a whole bunch of water in there that just wouldn't come out. I started to do the second enema and barely got any water in when I had to go again. The rest of the previous enema came out. Lots of very dark (almost black) poop came out too. Very soft and not at all formed. I then proceeded to finish the second enema and just very dark water came out with lots of oil floating on top.
I don't know what else to do. Is it okay to go back to doing fibre shakes at this point (actually Perfect 7 chased with a Cleansing Drink) or should I finish out Stage 5 first?
Will I ever be able to poop without an enema? Like I've said before, I've gone as long as 21 days without pooping at all. "Normal" for me is about every 5 days. But, I read here that we should be going every day. So, I am only letting it go as long as three days and then doing an enema.
P.S. According to the dr. I am supposed to have 2000mg of calcium per day due to osteopenia. I know that calcium is binding, so I do take the cal/mag combo to help that out.
P.P.S. I'm also doing light yoga each day and haven't had any muscle/joint pain since mid-way through Stage 1 of the Vital Cleanse!
Thanks for your advice. |

All sounds pretty typical and kudos to you to keeping such a great schedule! I don't think you should be seeing so much undigested oil floating. The reason I believe is combining fish oil pills with the cleansing drink. The cleansing drink shoots through the stomach very fast, right to small itnestine and liver. This takes the pills with them before they even dissolve all the way, and watered down, you don't have the time to digest the fats. Stop using oil pills - you can't dissolve them fast enough - and and instead either avoid oil at that time or just use any bottled oil, just one teaspoon is all you need presently.
You can switch from the smoothie to a fiber shake instead if your tongue isn't full of jagged cracks. You may want to swtich to a smoothie that isn't so calcium rich - use a non-enriched nut or rice milk, for instance. Calcium problems have to be dealt with slowly - there's no point in taking more calcium than you can absorb, it simply remains in the intestines and stops peristaltic action. So on the days you take the supplement don't take a dairy-based smoothie too.
Hope that helps! |

Thanks for the tips, Shelley. I did not know that about the fo pills. They are enteric coated, which I thought would be a good thing - I guess not when taken with the cleansing drink! So, this morning I skipped those (took them with my lunch instead).
I did buy Original Rice Dream (it is now organic!) for Protein Shakes later on, but after reading your post noticed that it is enriched. I also see in the ingredients that is made with safflower OR canola oil. What the heck is that doing in there???
I'll let you know how it goes. I'm on day three with nothing, so I think a fiber shake is in order for tomorrow and probably another enema . . .
As far as sticking to a schedule, thanks for the praise, but it really is easy for me when I set my mind to something. I love schedules and I haven't cheated once since starting the Vital Cleanse. I don't even have WANT the bad stuff anymore (made it through Halloween without the slightest twinge of candy cravings - this very unusual for me as sugar has always been my "food" of choice). |

Shelley,
No luck yet. I've cut out my second dose of effervescent cal/mag chelate (I don't care what the doctor says at this point - I want to poop!!!) and added five Perfect 7 capsules taken with a large cup of peppermint tea and chased by a warm cleansing drink made with stevia and no cayenne (I use the molasses and cayenne in the morning cleansing drink). I did two 2-qt. enemas on Sunday morning - one saltwater and one with aloe vera. I haven't gone since (it's Tuesday night). My tummy is bloated. Last night and tonight I had 1 cup rice pilaf with basmati and wild rice and aduki beans and small bowl of butternut squash soup for dinner and it causes the terrible burping for about 3 hours post-meal. I am chewing thoroughly, and I soaked the beans overnight in acv before rinsing and cooking the next day. After both last night's and this morning's cleansing drinks my upper stomach area ached (right in the center below the sternum). Should I stop the cleansing drinks for a while? Maybe I've overdone them? I'm going to give it another day and then I might need to do another enema. I REALLY REALLY want to poop on my own one of these days. Should I just wait until I go? I'm afraid it's going to be at least week if I do that.
I didn't see any floating oil after my Sunday enema, so it seems the fo pills were the culprit! I'm taking them with a meal rather than the cleansing drink. Once I finish the bottle I'll look into liquid fo instead of the pills.
Oh, I also added the cleansing cocktail in lieu of the kefir smoothie for right now - just to give my body a break from the calcium for a few days.
Regarding my tongue - I don't see any cracks, but the tongue coat has never cleared, even with a full month of the Vital Cleanse!!! |

Sorry for the above duplicate posts. Shelley, is there a way that you can give us rights to edit our own posts?
I just wanted to add to my comment about my tongue that I looked at it a different way this morning - spread it out wide at the bottom - and in this way could see about 5 little bitty cracks, about 1/8 inch long each that run vertically near the tip end of my tongue. They are kind of clustered there. Not sure if these are the types of cracks to which you are referring . . . ? ? ?
This is the end of day 4 with not even the slightest urge to poop. I'm starting to look like I'm pregnant with a rock-hard bowling ball. I took a brisk 20 minute walk after lunch today in addition to my normal routine. I may do some yoga this evening, but I am very uncomfortable at this point. |
