Hi Shelley and all -

I was just told that some of my health problems are caused by liver heat. Anybody have a plethora of information they would like to share on 'liver heat?'

Hiya FOY! It's so great to see you!

Okay, no offense to those members who are studying Chinese medicine or relying on practitioners who are O.MD's, but I find the Chinese modality totally impossible to explain to others because it's so convoluted. It just doesn't translate. here, try reading this:

Quote:
The liver is known as both the wood organ and the wind organ. Because it houses the ministerial fire within, we can say that the structure of the liver is yin while its function is yang. Its nature is firm and resolute, and it is in charge of moving and ascending. The liver relies entirely on kidney water to sustain it, on blood to moisten it, on lung metal's clear nature and descending function to keep it in check, and on the generosity of the middle palace's earth qi to nourish it. In this way, a firm and unrelenting character is being fitted with a soft and harmonious body, resulting in the liver's balancing and free flowing nature.

Plus Chinese Medicine never discovered the existence of hormones, and their cures for everything involving the liver require the use of estrogenic herbs, which over time will mess you up worse.

That's why when I developed VHMS the working vocabulary is more Ayurvedic than Chinese. It's easy to understand and you can instantly apply it to your benefit.

The short answer to what is liver heat is that you're an angry person. Stop being angry and avoid black pepper.
