oo that's a good idea. I have no idea whether it would work, but it's worth trying. You can also try wax paper, that would be slicker and I think it's still safe.

Hiya Shelley!

I just had this fantastic idea! When my b/f buys me a dehydrator, I'm going to take one of those round trays to the glass cutting shop and ask them to make me a very thin piece of glass that would cover one of the trays. I guess I could ask them to drill a few tiny holes for ventilation too.

What d'ya think? Surely glass must be the safest?

yeah, but it will be too heavy and won't let air circulate good enough, and do you want your kids peeling off a thin layer of fruit from a sheet of glass? or you even? The edges stay pretty sharp.

yeah, and they are so easy! My naturopathic doctor swears by raisin and sunflower seed cookies. You just chop them up in equal parts together in a food processer, make little cookie shapes and dehyrdate overnight. Very yummy, lots of good nutrients. Smile
