hi Shelley,
how are you? OK, I am very frustrated and fearful! The thing is, about 12 days ago, i noticed, BY ACCIDENT, a "mole" on the underside of my upper left arm ... if you were to bend your arm in half, it is about an inch above the elbow bone that sticks out...kind up up that back side of your arm, a little to the underneath of the arm. Now, I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT THERE BEFORE! I've been told by well meaning friends, that hey, maybe that's always been there and you never noticed it since it's in such an obscure place, ok fine....MAYBE, but to in my heart, i kind of know that isn't true. MAYBE, as my husb. had suggested, it was just a smaller frekcle, which grew somewhat,,,well, MAYBE! But, point being, let's just be honest here, one way or the other, something has CHANGED. It DOESN'T really HURT...once and a while it may feel "funny",..or "annoying", or "bothersome", to where i kind of feel as if i have to touch it, but it doesn't outrightly HURT, it doesn't bleed, itch, and the color doesn't change (it's basically a sort of tan/brownish color), and i guess it's about the size of a pencil eraser, maybe a tad bit smaller.
TO ME, when i bend my arm in half, and look at it in the BEDROOM mirror, it looks like a 4 pointed star, but if i look at it in the PORCH MIRROR, which is then light from the sun, it looks diff...then it looks sort of like a heart shape.....I have my entire family lookign at this thing all day, everyday, for the past 12 days(which is when i noticed it)...it really hasn't changed to much at all. There have been days, when somebody (my husb. or one of my sons) will say someting like it looks SLIGHTLY diff., but hardly anything, and my youngest has said to me, that from time to time, it almost looks as if the color is sort of pulling into the center of it, and leaving the outer edges more like a flesh color....now, ONCE AND A WHILE my husb. will see the same thing, but usually he says, "it looks the same as it did yesterday". We look at this with both our naked eyes, and with a mag. glass as well. Now, I called my dr.'s office, and described this to the nurse, AFTER i had read and read and read all sorts of horrible scary stuff about melanoma, and how it can look just like a mole, and how if you get a mole after 40 that's not good,...etc......ok, she didn't seem to think it was any big deal! I asked her, to please tell the dr. and to get back to me, so they can see me as soon as possible, JUST IN CASE...hey, i thought that was a smart move!
Well, apparently, when she called me back, she said, the dr. didn't think it's an emergency, so he can't see me FOR A MONTH! I asked her, if i were to go to the ER at the hosp. would the take it off for me, and she laughed, and said no!!!! THIS IS NUTS!
Now, shelly, i know i'm perimenopausal,,,,and i know that, the homronal changes can make moles appear, or moles that you alrady have, to change....THANK GOD i finally found two sites that said that!!!!!! So, apparently, they CAN very well just appear, even after 40, if you are peri menopausal, due to the hormones. I also realize, that due to peri, I may be blowing this way out of proportion, and i am aware of that! So, if that sounds like that to you, then please understand, that, that happens.
I told this nurse, that sometimes, i can STING, around that area,....I told her that it can feel like a little achey around the area, and SOMETIMES right on the mole.....but then she quickly reminded me that haven't i and my family members been looking at it EVERYDAY, ALL DAY....and of course, i said YES ... she then said, that can easily happen then, that even if you were to just lightly touch the skin around the back of your arm, ENOUGH, it would get IRRITATED and cause even the mole, itself, to feel irritated. So, now, I'm at a panic point, of thinking i have melanoma or something....i can't eat, sleep, whatever.....i feel like I'm panicking. I have lived with this for 12 days now. My very good friend had called the cancer hotline for me, and told them all this....they seemed to think that if it wre melanoma, I'D KNOW BY NOW! they said, it's VERY AGGRESSIVE, and if I've been seeing it for 12 days, and it was prob. there for say a month or two (or maybe more) before, then, i would definately see BIG CHANGES by now. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
when i go to see him, IN A MONTH, i told her, i want him to cut it off, and send it in for a biopsy. She said that would be fine, taht he would do that. BUT THAT'S IN A MONTH FROM NOW. Once again, let me say, we don't really see any big changes, jsut minimal changes, BARELY noticeable.....and that's over DAYS. Oh, the nurse also said, that moles can do that, non malignant moles can do all that too!
I would like to know what you think! And, is there any NATURAL way to treat this, to get this mole off?
oK, thanks again shelly!!! |

| I know, i keep forgetting! also, I have had a scabbies problem on THAT SAME ARM, right aroudn there, more over to the inside of the arm, and down between the inner elbow and down onto the forearm ... UGH,,,what a problem! I have been using calamine lotion, and taking Benadryl to stop the itching...but they lasted like, a month! I wonder if that could have anything to do wht that. I was reading, how something called, keratosis, can form over an INSECT BITE, and look almost like a scab, that was stuck on there.......which is funny, bec. that's what my son had said to me, he said, it looke dlike a scab.............i think, bec. it's flat, yet raised....not like your average "mole" that is more of a "lump". |
