Hey Shelley,

Just wondering if TMJ has any relation with Candida. I tend to clench and grind my teeth ALOT! (Especially at night)

Also, I'm presently doing Bentonite/Psyllium/Capyrlic Acid shakes once in the morning. Should I be doing do more?

And I take Formula SF 722 (is this a good product?)

Thanks Shelley!

TMJ is often a symptom of parasite infection, sometimes just liver congestion, and liver congestion tends to go hand-in-hand with candida.

If one fiber shakes a day and anti-fungals is all you're doing, then yes, you should do a LOT more! Smile Candida is systemic and requires a holistic, thorough approach. I've outlines the do's in the posts here and in the FAQ.

I have candida (no parasites) but I used to have clenching problems at night when my symptoms were really bad.

The clenching was one of the first symptoms to be controlled by the anticandida diet. It could well be a symptom of liver congestion.

Thanks Troy/Caper/Shelley,

Awesome! I was hoping that the clenching was from Candida because now I have hope of it going away when I KICK this thing!

Shelley, I am already doing alot of things outlined in your faqs. Including the main thing...eating properly. I will try doing 3 shakes a day then. I seem to be really liking my morning rice puff cereal (made with brown rice), in some Rice Milk. I add Stevia to it and it tastes just like Sugar Crisp! Mmmmmmmmm How much of this can I have? I seem to go overboard.

Sorry Shelley.........one more thing.

The shakes I'm on is the Dr. Natura fibre shakes. (I add my own Bentonite & Caprylic Acid). I tried the Stevia it comes with and it doesn't seem to help me eliminate the next day. I even tried steeping it a LONG time. Nothing. So I'm now taking my Oxy Powder to help me go. (I take 8 every other day only). Will I still see ropes? Is it okay to take the Oxy Powder with the shakes....or am I defeating the purpose?

Thanks.

Whoops! Puffed cereals are a no-no! Way too dry and the denatured proteins stress the immune system. Puffed cereals are always a cheat. Switch to hot whole-grain cereal.

Oxy-powder people say to not take fiber shakes while you're taking it. A workable compromise is to take the Oxy-powder at night and one fiber shake in the mid-morning. But really it's best to do like 2-4 weeks of nothing but oxy-powder and a mostly liquid diet, then go off the oxy-powder entirely and give your body fiber and fiber shakes.

figures.........as soon as I find something I really like.....I learn it's not good for me Surprised(

The lady at the health store said it was okay for Candida diets....but I'll take your opinion over hers.

Are vegetable pastas okay?

sure, any pasta is fine so long as it's non-wheat. I ate brown rice and quinoa pasta all the time when I had candida. Great way to get garlic into the diet.

Since my candida is getting under control my TMJ is practically gone. I used to have it really bad. I never thought that it could be related to the Candida.

Now that I'm about 6 weeks into the diet, it's amazing how much better I feel. I just love having energy and a clear mind again!!!!!

That's great, Ali! You should write up a bit about your journey - where you've been versus where you are now in the Journals/Testimonial forum. It's always nice to read about success stories. Smile

I have had TMJ issues for years, but recently have noticed now and then my jaw would get tight and sore at the ears where the upper and lowew jaw meet, like when I sleep on my stomach and the pressure of the mattress or a crumpled pillow against my jaw makes it a bit achy. Maybe I'm grinding my teeth in my sleep to try and alleviate a bad head position on the bed or pillow. I'm not sure. But, last night was the worst. Last night I woke up with my jaw so tight I could hardly open my mouth. I've had it like that one maybe one side for a few minutes, and I'd simply change positions in bed, gently work my jaw open and shut and let it relax. This time it took a bit more effort and was on both sides of my jaw. Now, I'd had an adjustment of neck and back at the chiropractor's office earlier in the day AND I had the window open to the bedroom that night. A breeze had been kicked up and it is allergy season, when my TMJ seems a bit worse. AND, I believe my candida symptoms have increased in the past 6 weeks since I'd done a DMSA challenge test and totally messed my system up. I'd been trying to add some fruit per my ARNP's request, and tried to have it with pungents to alleviate any chance for Candida. I even nibbled on some chocolate recently. I'm beginning to think I need to back off those again for now.

But, to know if it's parasites or candida or liver or all??? I don't know. I just know that today, after last night's scary jaw episode, my jaw is tight and sore still. I alleviated last night's problem with some gentle jaw exercises and took a hot shower to loosen all my muscles, including the jaw. Then, I went to sleep on my back and closed the window in the bedroom. I slept pretty good, but I'm spooked today. Trying to figure out which approach might be best to begin to address this. Help???

I always forget what it stands for but essentially it's jaw pain. It is very painful and can be very difficult to resolve.

TMJ = TemporoMandibular Joint (disorder). A problem with the joint that connects the lower jaw with the skull. Typically associated with a pop and pain in the joint.
