Hi Shelley. Your new sight seems to be really taking off and I like the format.
I'm not sure if anything can be done about eyesight, but I thought I'd ask. I have been nearsighted for about 30 years and have had trouble seeing at night, probably for the same length of time. Now that I've reached 50 my night vision seems to be getting worse. So much so that I don't feel confident driving at night. The city is okay because of the street lights, but on the highway I really have trouble. Is this just another one of those "as you get older" things that one can't do anything about? Or is there something I can do to correct this? |

Nearsightedness is usually genetic, but when combined with a loss of night vision that's a lack of zinc and vitamin A. Heavy metals toxicity can also contribute to lack of acuity or night vision. So definitely start taking zinc and cod liver oil, and if your other symptoms warrant it, consider doing some metals chelation.
Glad you like the site! |

There are eye exercises you can do. They help if you can do them systematically. There is a lot of information on the Internet, books, and video tapes. I have tried them from a book and they worked but I was not consistent enough.
Check Meir Schneider's site. He was legally blind and now he can drive a car.

Thanks Shelley. I read up on zinc on site (http://www.acu-cell.com/acn.html) and it appears that calcium may inhibit zinc absorption. That causes a problem because I'm osteopenic and have been taking 1200-1500 mg of calcium a day. Would it help if I staggered the zinc in between the calcium?
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "if other symptoms warrant metal chelation". What symptoms?
What else can I take besides cod liver oil? I'm allergic to fish. |

Yes, zinc has to be taken at a different time than calcium. Calcium is best taken after meals. You can take zinc with meals with oil, preferably.
That's a LOT of calcium, you may want to skip or lower the supplement a few days a week so that your receptors for calcium remain high. Constantly taking a lot of calcium causes the body to produce less receptors for calcium so that you don't overdose.
You can take beta-carotene pills with a bit of oil, and drink carrot juice spiked with cream if you have a juicer. That will get you good amounts of A. synthetic vitamin pills don't really have a usable form of A, they end up harming the liver.
Can you eat eggs? My Protein Shake with extra eggs or extra egg yolks is an excellent tonic. Every vitamin but C in a good, usable form. |

I have to take that much calcium because of the osteopenia. My doctor that prescribed the Fosomax I take (1/week) told me I should get 1200-1500mg calcium/day. I had an 11% drop in bone density in my spine and 7% in my hips so I'm trying to rebuild.
Yes, I can have eggs and I love eggs....although I've never had them raw.
Thanks for your help Shelley. |

Are you taking calcium by its lonesome? That won't build bones. You have to take a supplement like Cal-Mag Fizz that has calcium, Vitamin D, magnesium, and a little bit of phosphorous may also be necessary, in order for the calcium to build bones.
You should only ever take 500 mg of calcium at a time, otherwise you risk kidney stones.
Please read www.acu-cell.com for more information. Taking synthetic vitamins can be dangerous if you don't do it right! |
