Hi Shelley
I'm not really sure if this is the right forum but I'm feeling really awful right now.
I was meant to be driving 120 miles x 2 to see my derm/surgeon today and I drove around 20 miles on the motorway (highway) and just started having a panic attack. I couldn't drive fast and lorries were coming so close and eventually I had to pull off the road and find my way home using small lanes. A 40 mile journey took me 4 hours to drive because I just couldn't drive fast, the minute I did I thought I would crash/get blown over etc. I had to keep stopping to catch my breath.
I have no trouble driving around town/city areas, but the minute I drive on motorways or in the dark, I get dizzy and feel sick. This has been going on for 2 years now. Most of the time, my boyfriend does the driving for the long journeys. I've never had an accident, so this doesn't relate to any fear that I am aware of .... I keep thinking I'm going to crash or that the car is going to run off with me in it. My eyes get dazed. Also, I've seen my derm many times so I have no fear of seeing him as he's extremely nice.
I've had vertigo all my life, and this fear when I'm on the motorways or driving in the dark feels very similar. My forehead develops a band of stress, the upper part of my forehead becomes numb and my stomach cramps up and I start to breathe quite shallowly.
It's several hours since I got home now and I feel sick in my stomach and the stress band is still there. I feel quite exhausted ... my speech is slightly slurred .. a bit like concusion, also my eyesight is fuzzy.
This is the worst I've had it so far.
I don't know if my chiropractic session on Monday made this worse.
I took flower remedies, Bach and ETS all the time but it didn't help.
Do you have any idea what I can do to overcome this? I came home and had a MAP session but I am still feeling quite wonky. |

Oh dear, that sounds just awful!
My intuition is that you should ask your MAP team. This could be an attack brought on by association and repetition, or it could be something else, maybe even a past-life memory that still needs to be released. Hmmm.... I'd open a MAP coning, describe the issue, and then ask them if they can help you troubleshoot the issue. If you get a yes, use your intuition to ask questions. First thing you should ask is whether the issue requires troubleshooting. If you get a yes, continue. Double-check your kinesiology by rephrasing the questions, or asking the same question twice. Be sure to ask them if a Calibration session would help with this issue.
At the very least, I'd open a MAP coning before getting on the freeway. Any time you are about to enter a stressful situation, open a MAP coning. They are there for you whenever you need it. It won't be a regular MAP session, you'll still need to do those, but you can get their assistance with particular situations, all of us have at one point or another.
I open a MAP session whenever I get dental work done because I detest going to the dentist, and they help me stay relaxed. One woman reported opening a MAP session whenever she had to visit her very dysfunctional family, heh.
Hope that helps! |
