Yellowish fingernails ....

Hi everyone....

About two weeks ago, i noticed the the PINK nail polish on my RIGHT hand, had turned sort of orange, which freaked me out! The pink nail polish on the other hand, the left hand, didn't. So, i quickly took off the nail polish. I don't ususally leave nail polish on for long periods of time, bec. i know it's got harmful stuff in it, and it can do bad things to your nails. However, this time, since i was so darn busy, I ended up leaving it on for a few months, and even retouching it from time to time! Ok, I know that 's a problem!
So, anyway, about 2 weeks ago, i noticed the nail polish one ONE hand turned orange. So, like I said, i took off all the nail polish.

Well, at THAT time, the fingernails on the RIGHT hand (where the nail polish had turned to orange) were NOT yellowish, however, in about two days, that started. This is NOT dark yellow, it's more of a yellowish tinge, and since this had happ.d to me once before, ironically enough, in July as well (2 yrs. ago), I figured it was from the nail polish.

BUT, within a day or two, the fingernails on the RIGHT hand, started to turn that yellowish tinge, and that lasted about 2 weeks, they also got almost "thicker" somehow, and the also became sort of an eggshell color, so that you can't really see through the nails right now.
BUT THEN, a few days ago, I noticed it was now on the LEFT hand, now that hand, the fingernail polish HADN'T turned orange before i removed the nail polish. But, as of a few days ago, now THAT hand fingernails are also turning a yellowish tinge! At first, I panicked bec. I thought it might be liver or kidney damage, but I don't have the other symptoms, plus, i've had 3 urinalysis in the last few months, so i think they would have picked up SOMETHING. It could also be a fungus, a friend of mine told me she had this a few yrs. ago, and it was the exact same thing, she used lemon juice with peroxide to whiten them, which i will try, but I just wondered what else I can do. They aren't DARK yellow, just like a tinge. But last night, I noticed that a few of the fingers have "lines" or "bands" across them, horizontally. They arent' dark bands, just sort of light brownish.
This is NOT on all my fingernails. The nailbed itself, is fine, normal color.
I don't have any other symptoms, I am "basically" healthy, other than perimenopause, which is causing my hormones to go NUTS.....which also may contibute to this.

I would appreciate any info. on this problem i have, does it sound at all like something serious, ... I don't think so, I had this once before.
But, THIS TIME, I have these light brown bands on a few of the finger....but again, my friend said she had had that too. .. and it was Candida!
