Shelley,

I seem to have to my adrenals under control, finally! No more "hot flashes" every night at 7pm and through the night. And I am feeling somewhat better overall.

So.....now I need to work on the next problem. This is the one that bothers me the most because it is so obvious. What do I do for my puffy face and HUGE bags under my eyes? I understand this problem may be kidneys?

I just completed my fifth liver flush yesterday (have a colonic scheduled in two hours), am reboudning daily, watching my diet carefully (not always perfect but getting better by the week). I watch my bowl functions daily and adjust accordingly.

What do you suggest for the puffiness and bags?

Thank you!

It's a combo of kidneys and lymph. I just posted about various detox baths, those and everything mentioned in Lymph Management would be a big help.

Also helpful would be the Oil Swish, a detox method I just learned about because it wasn't in my Ayurvedic book, and so I've asked everyone to test it. So far I've noticed a reduction in my need for sleep and bags under my eyes, so I'm liking it a lot. The post is called "something new to try," be sure to check it out.

It would also be good to apply pure expeller-pressed oil to your entire head and neck before getting into the bath or shower. Oils increase metabolism and circulation when applied to the skin and this allows the body to exit toxins via the skin as you sweat. It helps to drink the cleansing drink first, an Emergen-C or potassium broth. Definitely keep up your potassium and calcium and reduce salt.

Thank you. I am trying to do more and more for my lymphs, but in this really cold climate, I look at that cold, cold bathtub and think about a detox bath and run the other way. I understand with niacin, etc. that I should sweat and it should be a very warming experience, but it is sooo hard to convince myself to get started. It is also just impossible to find even 1/2 hour for me tiime, espcially since I have added excercise time, dry brushing, colonics, and cooking to my routine.

What kind of oil should I use on my head and face? As someone who has oily skin for years (it is now normal, but not dry at all), that just sounds awful! I do a sesame/coconut oil on my legs, arms and body after a shower, but my face and head? Yuk!!! LOL! I WILL work on that one.

My arms, espcially my upper arms, are just grotesquely HUGE. I mean way out of proporation for the rest of my body, so I am working hard at the lymph stuff and will continue.

One other problem though. With the rebounding, eating better, bowel management, colonics, dry brushing, etc., parts of my body are slowly losing size....yea!! My upper legs, while still full of cellulite, are actually getting smalls as are my hips. But the area above my waist, between my waist and breasts, is getting larger and larger. I have actually gained an inch and a half over the last six weeks just below my breasts. It is all in the front, too. Any ideas?

Thank you so much for your help!

You can use either coconut or sesame. Since you tend to get cold, sesame would be better, as coconut oil tends to cool us down and sesame tends to heat us up.

Any areas that seem disproportionately swollen should be given castor oil packs, massage, and rubbed down with oil which is left on for 20 minutes before showering/bathing.

It's fascinating that the detox baths make you feel cold. There's got to be something going on inside, some problem with circulation and metabolism... maybe instead of niacin you should be taking in a lot more cayenne, like capsules instead of just tincture, and ginger tea prior to the bath?

Oh dear....I must have really mispoken myself.

I haven't actually taken a detox bath yet because I just LOOK at that cold tub and don't even want to do this!! When the weather warms up a bit, I am sure it won't be so unappealling. And I do understand that if I actually DID the detox bath I would be warmed up....but I just haven't been able to make myself do it.

It seems like right now I have so many things in my life that I don't want to do (work wise and problems with my Dad's health) and I have added so many new protocols that I am just too overwhelmed to do one more thing that isn't appealling.

I will get over it......eventually!

ooOOoooo! got ya. Smile

I understand. There's a huge learning curve to all of this, not to mention a life-adjustment curve etc. etc.!

I took to detox baths right away because to me, showers are cold! I always freeze in the shower. Brrrr! but my bathroom gets so hot and steamy during a bath that once I get out of the tub I'm still warm and comfy. Smile Plus it's such a nice way to spoil one's self, just get away from it all, light a few candles, add scent ... yummy!
