Hi
Shelley,
I hope you're doing well. How's the novel coming along? Gonna give J K Rowling a run for her money?!
I needed your advice on something if possible. I've noticed that when I take laxatives my skin improves quite quickly ( less breakoouts, better skin tone, etc.)
I was wondering why this was. I have regular daily bowel movements. I get my fibre from beans, flax, green smoothies, etc. I do enemas a couple of times a week, and not much too happens to the skin.
Yet if I have 2-3 BM's a day my skin improves.
I've been on the candida diet for a long time, and I've done lots of liver cleansing ( slow liver cleanse for 3 months).
The lax I've had on and off for the last few days is senna tea.
Do I need to do some fibre based cleansing? i.e. colonix.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

| Also, my tongue (unless I eat very very spicy food) is always coated front to back. This occurs even when food I've eaten has been very light or easily digestible even with the addition of digestive enzymes and teas! |

Hi shelley,
The laxative is senna tea ...so not as strong as senna capsules. |

oh my goodness... don't take senna for more than 2 weeks or you risk losing all bowel function for months.
your skin gets clearer because your bowels are cleaner. Clean liver, lymph and bowels means clean skin. Basically, your inner body is a trash can. Cleanse it and you'll have beautiful skin. |

Thanks shelley,
I was wondering, as I'm slim ( underweight more like!) and have daily BM's should I skip oxypowder and focus on fibre shakes? Maybe whilst on a fast of some sort?
Maybe this could clear my persistant tongue coat, which doesnt shift even with enemas and laxatives. The only thing which clears my tongue (temporarily) is really hot spicy food.
I haven't yet ordered the oxypowder but was going to.
Appreciate any advice you have.
Thanks

Yep, if you've never had chronic constipation, always had at least one bowel movement a day, you can start with fiber-based cleansing. Try one fiber shake only if you're eating whole foods for a week, then maybe you can increase it. If you're juice fasting you can do more fiber shakes.
If you have to take laxatives to go, don't do a lot of enemas. It's either/or with laxatives and enemas, altho fruit-based laxatives and fennel are usually gentle enough to allow enemas.
Have you done the stomach acid test yet? I remember you were wondering if you were overdosing on the vinegar because your tongue got red afterwards. Could be you were taking a bit too much, or needed more water, but since it did clear your tongue coat up a bit I think it's worthwhile to take some before your main meals and maybe a little bit of cleansing drink - more lemon than vinegar - right before bed.
Be sure to check out my recipes for fiber shakes - in the candida forum sticky posts and the FAQ. Get creative even.
And be sure to get all of the Skin Food super foods and supplements: Emergen-C, iodine, A, zinc, EFAs, D, calcium-mag fizz or similar. see FAQ. |

Thanks fro the info shelley,
I just ordered some colonix ( was going cheap!) and I though I may do this along some juice fasting..prob a week or so.
I was wondering what can be consumed on a juice fast? I read some posts where people have done some JF alongside some oxypowder, and you said that the protein shake and some soups would be ok.
What would be the best juices for resting the digestive system/ cleansing the bowels while doing the colonix and being on the candida diet?
Thanks

Check the Recipes in the FAQ. There are juice and broth recipes, cleansing drinks, cleansing carrot salad, all of these are safe for a "fast." You can just eat Kichadi and call it a fast. There are schools of thought on how to cycle through foods on your fast, I think I put that into the FAQ too. Look for a fasting link.
I don't recomend complete water fasts except for perhaps one day here and there, as most people are already so dangerously malnourished they have to do some kind of replenishing in order to fast productively. |
