Hi Shelley

I have a pot simmering on the stove. Very Happy I included a few cabbage leaves and some slices of fresh ginger, parsley, celery, a carrot and onion with all the potato skins.

So, I simmer for 45 minutes, then discard the veges (not worth eating any of them? ... or are they 'dead' now) ... and can I heat up the broth several times?

Also, how long will this broth keep so the potassium is still active?

Thanks!

It will keep refrigerated for a couple days, but for best therapeutic benefits drink all you want on the day you make it and then freeze the leftovers for next time. The potassium lasts a long long time, it doesn't break down like enzymes do. Smile

That's great, thanks Shelley.

Doesn't taste bad at all .. although it does look a little odd.

Shelley, is Potassium broth very alkalising? I really need to do a lot of alkalising and anti-inflamatorry work on my body right now. Loads of aches and pains plus acne on cheeks.

I'm prepared to make this every day if it helps me!

yes, very much so! Smile

Adding parsley helps a lot too, or cilantro, because of their high calcium content. Then when you want something a little more solid that you can chew, make broccoli soup. All very alkaline. Smile
