|
|
Hi Shelley,
Well, I am in the hurry-up-and-wait phase of looking for temp jobs. But the good news is that I can get in my first liver flush.
I have done malic acid for about 10 days now. My diet hasn't been great in the last week tho--too much fat which I can feel in the liver/GB area and not enough greens.
Questions. I ate at 3pm today, black bean soup, 3 crackers, some "health food" cheeto type things and 3 gluten free cookies. Not particularly low fat
I forgot to do an enema this morning and can't do one now since I just ate.
Could I do the enema right before the LF? Or should I wait till tomorrow and do the enema first thing the morning of the flush?
BTW, I am the one who had the red blood come out of the enema several months ago and--lo and behold--I discovered a hemmorhoid. I only noticed it because after a few weeks of a wicked, hacking-type cold, it is actually protruding
So...do you have any recommendations for the type of enema, pre- and post flush? I plan to do the epsom salts LF per Hulda Clarke but I will substitute an enema for the morning after dose per Shelleycat...
Thanks, Shelley. May you have an open heart and a quiet mind... |

You can do an enema right before the liver flush no problem. There are several flush protocols out there that call for a coffee enema, but I think that's overkill - just salted water should be perfectly fine.
Be sure to start drinking aloe vera juice to shrink that pesky hemorrhoid! and there's a recipe for Barley Tea in the Kitchen forum that is also very helpful.
Good luck on your flush!!! |

Shelley,
Thank you for your reply!!!!!! I will get on the hemmorhoid right away!
A few more questions.
For the past several months I have had a lot of sludgy, sticky, chaffe-y bowel movements. It could be partly because I've switched from eating tempeh, tofu, etc., to eating lots of spicy lentils (yum) and legumes and also due to my lapse in eating veggies. My stools used to be nutbrown, large and well-formed if I ate brown rice but that doesn't do it anymore. Now they are smaller, stickier and smellier. Somehow I think this sludge is also related to poor liver function.
My question is whether I should still try to do my first liver flush (which I really want to do because I know I need it and I am out of work and have time) or try to get serious about a liver cleansing diet and then flush. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Also, I notice in your FAQ that you suggest eating herbs and foods to build up bile production. A few months ago I tried taking a teaspoon of olive oil and lemon every morning but ended up with a precursor to a gall bladder attack. (I was also taking lots of ACV and doing ACV/garlic enemas for my candida and was herxing from that at the time). So...I am a little leery of taking the oil if my liver just can't handle it. Or maybe I didn't have enough fiber at the time I was taking the oil?
Thanks again, Shelley. You're the best!!!!!!! Kamala |

If you want to go ahead and flush, do a light flush - a small dose of oil, like half a cup, with twice as much juice at least. And be sure to have peppermint candy and a heating pad at the ready, or castor oil pack. Applying heat to the abdomen really does help the body during a flush.
I wouldn't advise doing a full flush because of the hemorrhoids and pain from previous oil/garlic/acv mini-flushes. Sounds like your gallbladder is just a bit inflamed.
You can expect to see some weird stools as you cleanse, and eating spicy foods is cleansing! adding in kefir to your diet, or garnishing your lentils with yogurt/raita should help with that. |

Shelley,
I have been reading through the FAQs looking for the Barley Tea Recipe for my hemmorhoids but don't see it there. Is there a way to search the FAQs? Do you have a particular barley tea you recommend? Tx much! |

oh I haven't put it in the FAQ yet! Oops! it's in the Kitchen forum. You can search the forums but can't search the FAQ yet. |
