Shelley wrote somewhere on this site that gentle people should find jobs that are more suited for that kind of person. No deadlines, no toxic people, etc.
Can someone make some recommendations for jobs for gentle people? I am very interested in maknig a change from the computer field into something more "gentle." I was considering nutrition and I have heard that most nutrtionists dont like their jobs...any ideas are welcomed. |

There are job placement personality tests that you can take, or you can brainstorm a list of jobs that you would at least consider and then see if they have any of the parameters that would make it uncomfortable.
Nutritionists do have it tough, which is why I didn't bother. First you have to follow the guidelines even if they're wrong, and it's hard to find steady employment except at hospitals and dialysis centers, unless you have an "in" (and usually a lot more education) with a sports team.
but if you're a nurturing person and like the health field, then you might want to consider physical therapy, either rehabilitation or sports medicine. |

| Maybe consider working on a farm or in a nursery. I did an internship recently on a farm and it was the most relaxing work ever! You are outside everyday, moving around, and nurturing plants. Sometimes you will be doing teamwork and sometimes you work independently. Also, this work is quite meditative. It will do wonders for you both physically and emotionally. There are many resources on the internet to find a farm that would suit your interests and needs. |
