Hi again Shelley and all, I have a question regarding this product, but if you are not familiar with it, hopefully that doesn't matter, what I need to know is probably general enough to apply to all cleansing methods. This would be my first cleanse. It is a 12 day, and comes with a leaflet for all dietary restrictions ( and allowances ).

fyi -
the product contains - black radish root, barberry root bark, danedlion root, ginger root, parsley root, marshmellow root, cramp bark, wood betony herb, cascara sagrada bark, turkey rhubarb root, buckthorn bark, fennel seed, red raspberry leaf, cayenne fruit, red clover blossoms, echinacea herb, mullein leaf, uva ursi leaf, parslet leaf. those are in 3 different pills, and the liquid is licorice root, yarrow herb flower, uva ursa leaf, juniper berrier, corn silk styles, burdock root.

So my question is how important and strict would I have to be. I will give an example. It says no sugar no honey no maple syrup. I am looking for a way to sweeten an organic decaf coffee that I would like to drink in the morning ( without milk, no dairy allowed either it says ( except butter )). I don't mind sacrifices, ( there seem to be plenty on this one, I'll list some at the bottom for those curious ) - but I am still working every day, I can live off of other things during the day, but I need to start with something how and sweet. Is it so terrible to introduce a little of the things it says to avoid or is it imperative to be 100% strict to these guidelines. I am not looking for an out to cheat, I ma simply seeking information as I know very little when it comes to cleansing. What I do know, is that I know how to live a healthy lifestyle. I eat plenty of ruits and veggies, never fast food, limit meat to one serving a week sometimes 2. Almost never real coffee. getting lots of exercise, and juicing with my juicer when time allows. So please shed some info on this for me including would it be possible to buy an artificial sweetener, this to me seems worse as it's all chemicals. Thanks for any help people.

here is what you can't eat for those curious

sugar
bread
peanuts
seafood
cheese
butermilk
bananas
fruit juices
grapes
honey
malt
molasses
maple syrup
melons
oranges
pasta
pinaepple
raisins
cakes candy icecream
cereal ( processed )
pop/soda
sugar
cottage cheese
mushrooms

and alcohol

then there is a list of foods you can eat - but it also says, if the food is not listed in that section, that you cannot eat it. I would post thiss list too if anyone wants it, it's just longer

Were I you I would avoid the laxative tincture as it has raspberry. One of the known dangers of using herbs to cleanse is that many herbs are highly estrogenic. It's not safe to mess with hormones. I've known girls to suffer through bad periods and they didn't have to, they were just trying to be healthy and drinking tasty raspberry tea rather than coffee! oops! A few doses won't spike your hormones too much, but my recommendation is to cleanse with as few estrogen-herbs as possible. This is one of the reasons why I recommend www.sensiblehealth.com as a good place to get your herbs - julia is well aware of this and takes care of it for you.

You should be able to have natural sugars on your cleanse, just keep the amounts low and take sometime that day about 50 mg of zinc and make sure to get some B vits too. That will offset what sugar robs you.

Good luck with your cleanse!!! Smile
