Hiya Shelley,
I'm curious about what happened after my first chiro adjustment. Ok, I was on the way to the chiro (went with my friend for his first adjustment too, we have to bus) and was waiting for my bus at a mall. I forgot to take a supper, and was starving. So, I bought a bag of Kettle sea salt and vinegar potato chips and downed the whole thing - no sugar or anything bad, I know they're not great anyways but I wanted to do it anyways. I'm 2 months into the Candida diet absolutely strict and this was the first cheat. I was just curious to see how my body would react. Luckily it didn't seem to have a bad effect (no pulse change after eating them, only a very small amount of gas this morning and I usually have a very small amount of odourless gas ever day anyways, I don't think its anything to worry about). So I was expecting to have a coated tongue. Anyways, I went to the chiro, he explained my problems (mostly neck: forward neck posture) and had my first adjustment. I must say it was quite an experience, the instant I got up off that table I felt different, somehow lighter and just good, like a well tuned car as opposed to a rusting old beater. It was wonderful, I could sit up straight for the entire ride home and my back didn't get tired. That feeling has already faded as my body is pulling the spine back into misalignment. Luckily my chiro is determined to retrain my body back to healthy posture and so gives me various exercises for the soft tissues in combination with the adjustments. But anyways, as for my tongue, I do have a crack down the middle, and there has always been a coated section (oval shaped, about 2.5cm in diameter, so quite a big part of my tongue) encompassing the crack that I have never been able to get rid of by fasting/pungent therapy/fiber. Now, I had no emotional release like I was hoping for (although he did say that because this was the first adjustment he went easy on me and from now on it will be more intense), but as a positive unexpected thing, that entire patch of tongue coating completely disappeared within 3 hours! So I'm really happy, I was just wondering, because I've never heard of chiro adjustments helping with the tongue coat itself. Any thoughts?

It makes sense to me! Spinal subluxions interrupt messages along the spinal column, which means everything the body wants to tell the brain about how things are working, and vice versa, gets inerrupted. Peristaltic action is slowed down, everything slows down, and that allows foods to just sit there and fester. You picked up your metabolism by increasing the nervous system's communications system, basically. That allowed your body to do some real maintenance.

Be sure and do those soft tissue exercises to get the most bang for your buck! Smile

I have absolutely NO idea how to go about finding a good chiro or
osteopath ??
I'm afraid that they may do more harm than good if they're
NOT experienced ... Confused

Thank-u Shelley Very Happy

Ask if they had any extra schooling on soft tissues, diet, nutrition. Even a bad one will help a bit, especially if mixed with rolfing or deep tissue massage or physical therapy.
