All live whole foods that are kept near-raw come with their own enzymes but to supplement you have to use pills or powders, which is no big deal. They're a safe refinement. If your stools are healthy and you're not passing tons of gas, and you don't have pancreatic issues (diabetes) you don't need to supplement extra enzymes unless you're eating a lot.

Oh, ok.....I mostly eat the protein shake, eggs with veggies, salads, my homemade salsa (tomatoes, green onion, jalopanos, habenaros sp?, sea salt, acv, and olive oil) this is pretty hot stuff and I eat it on and off when I crave it or want to have (for an example we are having fajtas sp?) and add it to that so I don't get constipated (if that helps that)(actually I don't usually get constipated (life has changed) but I would like to be more regular...I don't eat bread if i can help it...only flour tortillas sp? the most one or none a day.....I have started working out just about everyday and eating the way I have been I have more energy...if I have low thyroid which effects the metabolism what would you recommend for a faster transit time....have been under alot of changes this past month, living somewhere new, getting divorced, but happy....I usually have the lemon/acv in warm water in the morning and don't go bm...is having veggies enough for that or do I need pasta/breads/etc.. for that part....dinner is usually meat with veggies (pot roast/stew), and salad--not alot....

You have to eat a lot of veggies to get enough fiber once you cut out whole fruits and breads. If you don't eat pureed soups, cleansing salads or the occasional fruit meal then it's best to occasionally supplement fiber, either as flax seed tea or psyllium seed fiber shakes.

A spicy hot salsa with onions is great pungent therapy which does usually help with transit times unless it's very salty or astringent, which can slow things down due to dehydration.

If you know for sure you have low thyroid (temperature self-test plus labs) then you have to correct it until your TSH is somewhere between 1 and 3. Sometimes you need extra iodine to help with that.
