Hi, I've bugged Shelley about this issue before but wanted to post it on the forum in case there is any other input out there. About 2 1/2 years ago, I was diagnosed as hypothyroid and almost overnight gained 20 lbs. I stayed on synthetic thyroid medication over a year and then discontinued. Through cleansing, colonics, diet and some input from an herbalist, I have slowly but surely nursed my thyroid back to health. Now I have normal readings in all my bloodwork (I still visit an endocrynologist and have regular bloodwork done), which is all miraculous in my opinion and I feel a lot better too.
The problem is the 20 lbs. I gained over 2 years ago will not come off no matter what I do. I've tried everything under the sun (even an ephedra product but without caffeine) plus fat & carb blockers, fat absorbers/digesters, balancing my PH, etc. I've focused on thyroid, adrenal and liver cleansing/healing religiously and thought for sure I'd see some improvement by now in my weight.
Anyone have any ideas on what my problem could be?
Thanks, |

A few things that help me lose weight whenever I need:
-Exercise more
-Eliminate bread (even good bread)
-Eat more raw fats (eggs, kefir, olive oil, cod liver oil, etc)
-Exercise more
It depends on a lot of things. What does your diet and exercise routine look like right now?
Blessings,
Shawna |

Hi thanks for your response. Believe me, in this weight loss attempt, I've tried everything and then some, including various forms of exercise. I think my body is just determined to hold onto this extra weight for some reason. That's what I'm trying to get to the bottom of.

Shelley would know a lot more than me on this subject but your Dosha may be a lot to do with your weight problem. If you lack internal heat then food may take a long time to digest and break up, internal metabolism is as important as the outside physical. I know that Cayenne pepper tends to speed up my internal body and aid weight loss but long time use for me (I am Pitta mainly) can get over heating and make me irritable.
Have you done the Dosha test yet? |

| Are there any artificial sweetners in your regular diet? I knew this woman who was always in great shape, she taught aerobics classes. For some reason she started to put on weight. She too had 20 extra pounds she could not take off. Well, to make a long story short, she stopped drinking diet soda pop and the weight melted right off. Lots of people have trouble with nutrasweet, and it shows up in a wierd way. |

| Diet sodas are also full of SALT. 60 mg at least, that's about 3 teaspoons! Any processed food on the shelf is loaded with salt to keep it from going bad. |

Alien I can't imagine you as irritable.
I have such a set perception of you. Focused. "Right this is what needs doing... I'm doing it"
and humour, and comfort and serenity seeking.
Thought I'd share that with you |

|
|
To start off with a clean body I went on Master Cleanse for 10 days, I got 13 lbs off. I also went off BCP, which caused me migraines (I was stupid using them in the first place). I started exercising every other day as well. First I got "Cardio Salsa" then "Fat burning pilates" DVDs. These two are wonderful, and I must say I was not in the good shape, and these weren't that difficult. What helped me a lot I think was CalMagFizz. I must have been craving food, because I was deficient in some vitamins or minerals which are present in CalMagFizz.
Also I tried to buy as much organic products as possible. One of the things which you may not realize here in the States is: look at US and Russian/Chinese Gymnasts, US girls are so massive, Russian so skinny but still strong. Here the food is loaded with hormones, same hormone which cause fattening of animals. So I try not to buy any meat which has hormones in it.
I think comments about artificial sweeteners are important as well and salts.
I also realized my improved mood was a big help in loosing weight.
Since then I lost more weight. I still battle some health issues like acne, but thanks to CureZone and Shelley I am getting better. |

That's a great post, LK! You should write it up just a bit more and put it in the personal journals/testimonials forum, I'm sure others will find it very helpful! |

Harmony you are amazingly perceptive...one of the very few people who can work me out and you have never met me. My boyfriend just had a chuckle to your comment and said “Oh boy, but when you do overheat and get irritable… watch out!”
I cannot help the fact I was born a red-head (well strawberry blond more) and a , *chuckles* and suffer PMS like bull charging at a red cape. |

LOL! Golly Mel, I would think anyone with any sense could read you quite well just from your smile.
When I had candida I was so nuts from irritability I don't know how anyone could stand me. Loud neighbors, bad drivers, fear my wrath! |

Until this year (with your help Shelley) I have been withdrawn all my life and very unhappy, often snappy at others and really didn’t like being near other ‘humans’.
My friends called me an alien for this reason as I rarely left my house unless for work. Ironically I work in TV/media and when on camera no one would suspect that I was unhappy and hated being out in public, but as we all know when it comes to work you have to put on a brave face.
Now I am loving life and go out lots to malls and seeing relatives , I didn’t know life after Candida could be so different . I can’t wait for life after wheat intolerance and lymphatic congestion and toxic liver LOL. |
