I read through all of the posts that had anything to do with left-side pain and most seem to have to do with pain that is just below the ribs. The pain I'm having is about right at where my underwire in my bra sits (or just a little lower), behind (inside?) my ribcage. Left side. But it's at the far left, not left-center. I thought at first is was my heart, and in my anxiety I keep thinking it, but I think it's too far to the left to be my heart. My pain is sharp stabbing pain lasting for about 15 sec and coming every hour or two (not regular or constant). Could this still be the colon? Could it be twisted? Or would that pain be constant? My other symptoms are constipation (feel like I had to go several times today, but very little, if anything came out) and feel rumblings of gas also. Another reason I don't think it's my heart, but something in my stomach/colon area. Could it just be a gas bubble? That high up? Any thoughts?

Yes, that could still be your colon, or pancreas possibly altho if there was something wrong with your pancreas you'd have chronic diarrhea, not constipation. But gas and gurgling usually means low stomach acids, and after awhile that can cause true GERD (which is rarer than they'd have you believe) or ulcer, which can give you weird pain anywhere in the upper quadrant, usually to your left but not real far left.

If you have an actual urge to go you're not truly constipated, but you could be kinked and ballooned which reduces the potential of peristaltic action. Are you eating a high-fiber diet? ARe the stools well formed tubes or little balls?

Are you sure it's not the connective tissue between your ribs?

Thanks Shelley! I don't think it's the connective tissue - it just feels different. But it probably is gas, or possibly even an ulcer. The pain has moved/gone. I feel heaviness in my chest and throat (like acid reflux) that I've dealt with before and what really got me is my arm(s) still hurt (I'm guessing I need more magnesium). I guess it's time to clean house again. I'm pretty sure what caused all of this is my allergies escalated into asthma, and I went to the doc for help, cuz the natural stuff I was doing wasn't helping fast enough (hard to heal thyself when deprived of oxygen and sleep Smile ) And I truly believe that the meds they have me on started this downward spiral again. I'm prone to panic attacks in the past, so even though I knew it wasn't anything real serious it was hard to not think menacing thoughts when going through the pains. I know what I need to do, I guess I just needed reassurance that the pains that I was having was due to what I thought it was, and not my heart (even though I knew that all along). Thanks for the reassurance! I have stopped all but the rescue inhaler (which I find that I need at least once a day) but will start with the cleansing again to eliminate the problems without meds.

Thanks, as always, for your help!
Marnie
