Hi Shelley,
I took the adrenal supplement that I mentioned in an earlier post and it seemed to calm me down for the first hour and then I got anxiety. I haven't had much anxiety lately but it comes and goes.
I also have noticed my skin is oily now and my scalp is as well and, my scalp has sore bumps on it and an odor...lovely.
I had not been taking the adrenal supplement until today, I went back to Ohio and didn't want to take anything that might make me worse. I did take some zinc and B12 for a while.
My hair shedding has NOT slowed down yet
It has been almost two months now. I am doing what I can to ignore it and not stress, I know it doesn't seem that way but I truly am. It is difficult when you are afraid to wash your hair and then all day it is falling on you, doesn't make for a pleasant time.
Am I doing the right things? Primal Defense, Vitamin C, Cod Liver Oil, Alfalfa (for vitamin K) and a cal/mag drink.
I notice when I get upset, my scalp will actually hurt and it is like I can feel the oil starting on my skin and scalp
One other thing that I notice, my tongue is coated in the morning.
Could I be a bigger mess? Ugh. I want to get back to feeling well and not stressing, darnit. What if anything should I change, modify?
Thank you!!

Don't take primal defense, that gave me a rash so your breakouts may be due to that. Stop all probiotics for awhile. Then try the herbs again if they are all safe (non-estrogenic). In the meantime, make Bieler Broth.
You might want to add in Co-enzyme Q10. It's expensive, but great for nerves. |

Hiya Shelley
I have been taking Primal Defense for a few years, should I stop taking it anyway? I have been taking two a day because of the coated tongue, usually I took one day. Does that mean I have candida again or just another symptom of whatever is going on?
I know you're as tired of answering these questions as I am of going through this crap. This is how things started when I first got sick, I'm trying like hell to not go there again.
The adrenal supplement I got from the health food store doesn't have any estrogenic herbs in it but if you think taking a single herb would be better, I'll do that. This, as I said, seemed to make me feel good and then anxiety which I had not been having for a while.
Is it a symptom to gain wait in the abs, butt and legs with adrenals or would that be more hormonal? I haven't really changed my eating habits and I have put on weight.
I feel guilty for having to ask question after question
One of the worst things about not feeling well is not knowing why it is happening and trying a thousand things and most don't work...hence my thousand questions
Thank you for your help!!

2 years? Definitely stop! geez... it's only truly effective for about a week or so out of every quarter. It cleans house and then it's pointless to take it.
Yep, that's a symptom, weight gain around the waist and thighs means you're estrogenic.
A group of herbs is more effective than just one, however, if you tend to react to herbs it's best to take on one at a time and stop taking whichever one makes you feel anxiety. |

Ah well, I've been wasting my money on PD for a few years then
What is a good, natural mineral supplement? One from plants or something along those lines? I am getting Brewer's Yeast this weekend on my trip to the health food store but want to get something that has all the minerals. Any suggestions?
Also headed to the veggie stand to get the ingredients for the broth. Is once a day okay for the broth?
As always, thank you for your help!

Solaray Mega multi mineral worked great for me, and Shelley recommends it also. |

| see superfoods list in the FAQ. Multi-mineral supplements are fine too. It's the synthetic fat-soluble vitamins you have to avoid. |
