Hiya Shelley!
How are you??? I have a question about msm. I've been on the candida diet for about 7 weeks. So far so good. I was thinking of starting to take msm for hair thinning hair/receding hair line. I kno it is the acidic ph and all, and that candida people prob need more alkaline compounds, but do you think it would be that detrimental to take 1000mg of msm a day for a little while? I was planing on doing that plus some essential oils of rosemary and lavendar mixed in jojoba massaged in to see if I could help my hair. I really don't wanna lose it at 20 years old. I think it may be fine to do the msm but I wanted to check with you first. thanks |

oh yes it's fine. I use the acid/alkaline terminology because that's what people know - it's gotten so much publicity, but really it's all about deficiencies first, no matter whether or not they are on the acid or alkaline side of the equation, then the acid/alkaline balance second.
Candida people do great with sulphur usually becasue they need it to repair intestinal tissues and help their exhausted immune systems. So take it but only for a couple weeks. 500 mg at a time is better than 1000, you can take it twice a day but the trick is not too much at once.
Afterwards you may need to supplement calcium and selenium.
Sulfur is contra-indicated for people with Crohn's disease. So don't take it if you think you have inflamed bowels.
Low zinc, low iron and low iodine are the main suspects in hair loss, lack of protein and B vits for slow-growing hair.
Hope that helps! |

| I read in last months issue of mens health mag that there was a study done that analyzed men who developed breast tissue inflamation ( i guess a precursor to breast cancer) and the common link they found was that they were using soaps and shampoos that contained either lavender or tree tea oil. i guess they increase estrogen and lowered androgens. worth looking into. |
