It's mulberry season and I just picked a quart. There are these teeny tiny (I mean *really* teeny tiny) little bugs, some sort of fly, I think, crawling out of them onto the container. Does anyone know what these are? I've noticed them the last two times I gone berry picking.

I've rinsed the mulberries and have layed them out on a paper towel to dry before I put them in the refrigerator. So far, no more bugs. Is there anything else I should to to make them keep?

Thanks!

probably fruit flies?

Just make sure they are dry before you refrigerate so molds don't grow. There are food soaps you can buy but they kill the friendlies too so I don't use them.
