Hey Shelley? Please Please help, anyone! I'm so scared and stressed. I'm not exactly sure how long it's been since my last period, but I've been putting it off trying to go to see a doctor and now I'm worried that I've just made everything worse.
I've put myself in an awful position where it' has become very hard for me to go out anymore. I'm going to try and schedule an appt with a gynecologist. Would that be the best doctor to go see? Is there anything you think that may be causing this problem? I've looked up info on polycystic ovary, ammorneah(?), stress/depression related,...I am just very scared, and it's most likely my fault for my own health/emotional difficulties.
Is there any way you could give me some advice for the time being, till I see a physical doc? Are there any natural cures to at least get my period back? I'm afraid that a regular doctor may just give me a pill to get my period flowing again, but that doesn't cure the actual problem, if there is any...right?

Diet-wise, I have been avoiding sugar, except fruit, limited grains, I try to just eat clean whole foods. The only food group that I seriously lack is seafood & beef. I'd like to try raw milk/kefir too but it's all on me to get that stuff. Because I don't go out right now and no one in my family can find good beef sources. Is grass fed really that important? I'm sorry that it is all my fault, because I really am digging myself into a deeper hole by not being able to go out. My confidence and motivation levels have plummeted, but i am willing and going to get myself better.

If you need to know anything else physical conditions, stresses, appearance. I'm not lookin too good these days, its hard for me to even shower. I can't stand myself, like what have I done, if I really have gotten that bad. I hope I haven't caused health problems for myself, I'm scared for myself, that I can't just get up and go, and take care of my basic necessities.
I have to. It just becomes harder, and it's creating bad habits, lack of self respect for my own self, yet I do want to get better, and am trying now to pushmyself to get out! This means i have not gotten enough sunshine exercise, or clean air. I wish there was more sun right now but it's cold and winter here.
Thank you for listening, sorry for my entry being kind of long. I hope you could possibly help me, mainly my period issue is very much scaring me. Thank you Smile

While it's not great that your period has ceased temporarily, it's not that uncommon - it happens when you don't get enough protein in your diet, or when you're very stressed, or very low in iron. Lots of us stop menstruatingn whilst cleansing and fasting, doing gymnastics, going through basic training, etc. If there is no pain you don't need to see an ObGyn, you just need to get a physical, tell the doctor your periods have ceased and you'd like to check your iron levels.

Get Angus beef and Buffalo if you can't find antibiotic-free beef. It doesn't necessarily have to be grass fed, just preferably without antibiotics, which Albertson's has all the time as "natural ground beef." Drink good beef and chicken broths too.

Oh and don't take any calcium supplements for awhile, just iron.

This is definitely a sign that you should not be a vegetarian! Smile
