Hey Anne
Tell me about the A&P TV programe. I missed it! Is it a series? I try not to watch TV but I'm probably missing some good stuff too.

It's cos I've nothing better to do!
That series is on Channel 4 around 11pm each night. Not sure if it's just this week or on for longer. It's the guy who did a live dissection of a human body last year on TV and caused a lot of controversy. He also did that exhibition in London of plasticated human bodies that a lot of people complained about.
It doesn't help that he's called Professor Gunther Von Hagens, wears a black hat and has an accent which makes him sound like he's from Transylvania!!
He has a live model and a woman drawing on the model where the muscles etc are located.
He also has a dead human body which he dissects in front of an audience. Last night he took out the digestive system of a woman and stretched the small intestine out over several tables!
It's quite hard to watch but compulsive viewing. I think it he wants to educate people but maybe he wants to titallate too! You can't really remember all the names of the muscles etc when you're tongue is hanging out your mouth and your hiding your head behind a cushion! |

| Wow, sounds really good! I'm not good with watching things to do with body parts though. What are you doing up at that time of night eh??? Must see if i can find out how the video works, after having owned it for 6 years! |

| I saw on teletext that it's on tonight and is the last in the series. If I remember, I'll try and record it. It's 11.30pmish. It's about the gastrointestinal system I think. |

| No tonight it's about the physiology of making love! Should be interesting viewing......perhaps they're going to have 2 dead bodies, one on top of the other! |

Just checked on teletext, it now says it's about the reproductive system. Weird, but that was the subject in A&P that I disliked most .. all that talk about bits and bobs eeewwwwwww! |

Yes it's pretty gross isn't it! I saw that too...withe the saw...he was like a butcher!! What did your kids think of it?
It seems to really affect me, seeing what we are like when we're dead. I know it's stating the obvious but just seeing dead humans being cut up like that and knowing what its like to feel alive doesn't seem to compute on some level
Well I have them all on tape so can watch at my own pleasure.......!
BTW, I'm getting pains from taking malic acid, has that ever happened to you?
Cheers

Hey Anne!
No, I never took malic acid pills, but when I take too much ACV or apple juice I do get a bit of gut pain .. so maybe you're taking too much?
My kids were 'eeeewwwwwwwwwwwww!!!' 'Is that what Uncle Marcus does????'
My brother is a general surgeon, so he probably gets to see that kind of stuff all the time!
Did you know that onc a surgeon or obstrtrician qualifies, they revert back to being called 'MR' ... that actually stems from the days that butchers doubled up as surgeons .. so you're on the right track with what you said!
There was a fantastic program about medicine in Egyptian days a few days ago. Did you see it? They did some acting around the fact that surgeons 'practised' cutting up people who were still alive (in front of an audience) so they could see how the body works. OMG, that was gross! They used slaves and people in prison. The thought of torture like that makes me feel so sick!
I'm having a really bad food day today. I just can't seem to get myself together. |
