hello there

listen im really at the end of my teather here, i have seborrheic dermatitis

my scalp is very oily tight red and on fire, my eyebrows are the same flakey and oily and falling out with the skin attached

i have tryed most things to rid myself of this, did a half a dozen flushes, chinese/ indian medicine, all the vitamins you can think of, trust me i have exhausted it all, im now at the stage where i have stopped socalising with people, i have quit my job and im just turning into a recluse, i used to have amazing skin/hair and handsome, i mainly go out at night just to avoid people i know,

i swear im not the vain type but this is just crippling me, i get stressed so easy now over nothing which feeds my SD too. i mean if i was born with this condition i could have accepted it, but to have glowing perfect skin/hair then bingo..........this condition has cost me a fortune on missed chances in life, i could go on and on but i know i have bored you all enough

hope someone can help

I think I have seborrheic dermatitis too. I turned into a recluse about 5 years ago. What triggered your problem?

With acne, you have to be comprehensive. You can't just focus on one thing, you have to do it ALL, the whole kit and kaboodle of diet management, supplementation, cleansing all of the various systems of the body. It's because ALL of your paths of elimination finally became completely overloaded by toxins that they started appearing on your face. Time to take the filter out of the swimming pool! Imagine using the same oil filter in a car the same age as you. Your gasket has long since blown.

sorry, I was speaking (typing) in shorthand. Any kind of eruptions I tend to call acne even though it is important to differentiate. The fact that it is happening on your scalp/brows more than yoru face indicates that you're not as sensitive as other acne people to certain food compounds, which is great, you're simply not digesting fats well and are way too deficient in essential fatty acids and acidophilus, so the fats clog up the delivery system and get easily infected.

Once you cleanse out the bad rancid fats from your liver, bowels and lymph, switch to good fats (coconut, olive, wheat germ oil, borage, salmon, cod liver - don't EVER touch margarine or canola), add lecithin to your diet, digestive enzymes, you should see a marked improvement.

yes very much so

you really should, it speeds up the process tremendously.

Just read some of the posts - people say all the time about how my guidelines cured their eruptions, either all of them or most of them.

I have like the same problem as liondentist. I never had any problems with my hair except when I was younger I'd use hair sprays and gel but after washing my hair I'd be fine again. But 3 years ago I started getting dandruff, I'm 21 now. I'm not sure if its dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis.

All I know is it itches like 3-4 times a day, and its dry flakes not oily. I thought it might just be dry skin but its only on my head basically seems to be any place where theres a lot of hair. So I tried using apple cider vinegar diluted and undiluted. And head and shoulders, nizoral, tar shampoo, selsen blue, and t-gel etc. But few hours later things feel the same. I tried medicating for no more than a week at a time because of next to none improvement. I heard someone mention rubbing coconut oil might help. I did it one time but not entirely sure if it helped much. One time I got so desperate I dumped my head in a solution of hydrogen peroxide with vinegar that was put in a bowl and soaked my head for 15-20 mins. But didn't work either.

I also tried some niacin thinking I needed a little bit more circulation and I tried scalp massages too. But nothing. I don't have any real health problems besides this. I'm not saying i'm the most healthiest person, because I do eat junk food sometimes but balance it with good food as well. Worst thing though is I don't get enough exercise like I used to anymore.

Anyways I'm convinced that its either some external/internal fungus maybe or just dry skin because of being deficient in something i dont know. As far as internal treatment I tried 2 liver flushes and didn't get any stones. I took malic acid supplements to soften the stones before each flush. I also took zenmed supplements before each one. And drank a detox tea a few times also. But i'm also at the end of my rope with this. Have no clue how to proceed. I'll do anything that has the implications of relieving this ailment (diet, cleanse, fast even).

It's interesting and very telling when you say you "don't exercise like you used to." Many skin conditions, especially hair, are caused by a lack of healthy sweat. Without good healthy sweat, the oil glands get very clogged very quickly. It's one of the reasons I'm always going on about detox baths. I know people probably won't exercise enoguh to sweat just because I recommend it, but they might just get around to lying in a tub! Wink

So if you're not sweating frequently then yes, you're going to have to massage your head and do things to increase circulation and promote shedding of dead skin cells BEFORE they clog things up or flake off. ACV is great. Add in tincture of rosemary, peppermint or ginger and presto! could be just what you need.

Look at all the tennis stars like Chrissy Evert and Martina Navratalova, how beautifully they age. Their skin was constantly being replenished and toxins were exiting frequently.

Yeah, been thinking about how in the old days my head used to sweat more and things were fine. Thanks for you suggestion, as before I was more confused if it was dandruff or lack of circulation/exercise, but now leaning more towards the latter. It's close to winter and I'd prefer indoor exercises like doing jumping jacks or something. But any other suggestions for exercises?

I have done a detox bath before; putting ginger root in boiling water and putting that in the tub along with sea salt and baking soda. And also taking niacin 30 minutes before getting in the tub. Only did it once though. So if I decide to do detox bath over exercising how often should I do it? Well more specifically, how often should one sweat?

Other minor questions:

Do you use powdered ginger and is it easy to find?

Does drinking a drink with cayenne pepper or putting it in the bath tub promote sweating?

Yep, that's the detox bath, and there are others. Recipes in the FAQ. You can do that quite often actually, 3 days a week, just skip the Niacin and drink chamomile tea or peppermint tea instead. Both promote sweating. Cayenne will work too. Some die-hards put cayenne into the tub but I find that too painful.

You can use dried ginger powder but actual tea works best.

Ok I got cayenne pepper. I guess you add a little to the tea, which btw I have peppermint as well. Probably the best tea I've tasted so far. But I have 2 questions.

What brush or thing do you use to rub your skin with while in bath? I've heard of some dry skin brush but not sure if its the regular hair brushes that people use for their hair or not. And is it ok to use sea salts in the bathtub instead of epsom's salt?

Oh yeah one more thing, not sure I'll try the ginger option. Wasn't able to find the tea so far, and the the powder bottle isn't that big.
