I am definitely allergic to dairy - after 4 weeks of cleansing, I added in kefir shakes and plain yogurt shakes. Within a day, my ear canals were crusty and itchy and my scalp was flaking and itching like crazy. Kept at it for about 5 days and couldn't take it anymore. Been off it for a couple weeks and everything's clearing up quite nicely. Problem is, I need probiotics. What do you suggest I use in place of kefir and plain yogurt? I want to get the full spectrum of probiotics, if possible.
Another problem - this constipation issue is driving me batty! I haven't gone in six days (did an enema 6 days ago). I cut out the calcium, I am taking between four and six triphala per day. I am drinking plenty of fluid in the form of peppermint tea, India Spice tea, warm cleansing drinks, and the alternative cleansing drink. I am eating kichadi, organic & free-range meats, organic veggies, wild rice blend (lundberg), and the occasional cleansing pasta (with brown rice pasta), lots of healthy oils (fish oil, coconut oil, olive oil, and ground flax seed). I look pregnant (as far as I know, I'm not).
The only way I can poop is if I do enemas or take cascara sagrada (perfect 7), 5 tablets per day for a minimum of 5 days. I looked into metamucil and similar fiber things, but they all have sugar or aspartame so I didn't go for that. Do you think psyllium seed fiber shakes will be okay, or if my intestines are this sluggish will it just gum everything up even further?
I need some relief, and fast! I don't like the feeling of being dependant on enemas and laxatives though. |

| I believe Apple Cider Vinegar carries some of those those bacteria as well. |

Thanks. I'll look into the sauerkraut (blech!) and kim chee (haven't ever tried that). I take at least 1T of ACV every day in the cleansing drink.
Forgot to mention re the constipation that I am also taking vitamin c and drinking broths. Which, brings up another question (again) Shelley - can you make it so members can edit their own posts? At this point, we can not go back and add to, delete, or edit in any way our own posts once we have hit "submit."
Thanks. |

If you look pregnant then it's a good bet you have a prolapsed colon, which means you should be doing aloe vera juice every now and again to tighten it up, and cold half-baths to increase circulation there. It takes lots and lots of time to cure intestines that are all messed up. You're doing everything you can, just keep it up, and keep cleansing your liver and lymph too.
You might want to try Primal Defense but I'd try saurkraut first. If you add basil or oregano it tastes much much better. |

I was doing 1/4 c. 3x/day of aloe vera juice every 3-5 days or so until I finished the whole gallon of juice. I haven't bought more (finished it the weekend before Thanksgiving. Also finished the PD that weekend (did 2 weeks FD and then 4 weeks PD).
I finally got my period (14 days late) and that caused me to poop some the first two days (usually I get diarrhea with the beginning of my period and that's the only time all month that it's easy to poop).
The doctor's receptionist called to say all my tests came back "normal." I asked her to mail the results to me so I can see the actual numbers. I am thrilled that my cholesterol has gone down - it's been high since high school! Funny that it has gone down now that I've ADDED all these fats into my diet - amazing how your suggestions work, Shelley.
Thanks for all the great advice.
P.S. I've been giving the liver cleansing a rest for the past two weeks. I plan to resume the cleansing cocktail and liver cleansing salad next week. |
