One of the ways people like to try and debunk liver flushing is to point to lab tests of stones people have released and say, hey, if that's a real liver stone, how come it's only made up of cholesterol and oils? How come there aren't any of the other compoudns that the liver expels, such as bilirubin?

I'm not surprised that no doctor has considered this a nonsensical question, because they tend to forget their chemistry as soon as they graduate, and don't get very many hours devoted to food chemistry as it is.

The reason why liver stones are fats and cholesterol and only fats and cholesterol is because the other compounds are water-soluble, not fat-soluble. Water and fats don't mix. You can't have something that only mixes with water inside a fat glob.

A common experiment to demonstrate the differences between fats and water is to fill a jar halfway with water and add some red food coloring to turn the water red, then add about half as much clear oil. The clear oil will never turn red. It will only turn red if you add something that mixes with both oils and water.

To mix oil and water together so that they don't separate within a minute or two you need an emulsifier, which is what lecithin is. Lecithin is why you add an egg yolk to oil to make mayonaisse. That's why we take lecithin prior to a liver flush - and preferably during it too, at least during the slow liver flush. It breaks the stones down to a manageable size. Fruit acids do the same thing, just not as efficiently.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!! Very Happy

I had NO IDEA that the other compounds were water soluble only.
That fills a big gap, Im surprised it hasnt been mentioned on curezone before.

Excellent, thanks for the info Shelley.

This is great information, thank you! I myself don't know much about chemistry (never even took it in HS, I know, I somehow avoided it with physics!). I really appreciate you breaking the info down into common sense and base it on simple scientific principles.

Thanks for being so down to earth and having such a common-sense approach to health.
