Ive half posted this somewhere else, but want a repost, as I have more questions!
Ive been hearing a lot about how unabsorbable Calcium carbonate is (and that it may actually be harmful to certain body processes).
That we should be using more absorbable forms of calcium in our supplements (oroate, or citrate). Does anyone have any websites that detail the best form of a supplemental mineral?
Shelley, do you suggest switching CalMagZinc to CalMag Citrate (also by solaray). I'd rather spend an extra £1 or two and get a better product!
This makes things much more confusing!
I recieved this reply on curezone | Quote: | this is an old arguement here at curezone. i will tell you the truth.
most calcium cannot be used by the body. the calcium that can be used by the body to do the things we are told we need calcium for has to come from plants and herbs.
most people in the US are calcium overdosed. so what if the calcium is small enough or of such a form or structure that it can easily circulate through the body? all this means is that it can get in the tiniest channels and start the clogging, the calcification, the aging process that kills those lucky enough to escape more effecient killers. no matter how small it is, it is a rock rolling around in a living body. it is dead and can only produce death. it will never, ever become part of your bones, or your teeth, or your muscles, etc. the sooner you learn this, the quicker you can start to remove those things such as calcium that create the stagnant pool we call a diseased body. |
What do people think?
Im coupling this with my current new symptoms on muscle pain and twitches that I havent had before. Is supplementing with CalMagZinc causing a problem for me?
Wouldnt more people have seen white cylinders of unabsorbed supplement in their poo?
Really, really confused!! |

well you were overdosing, so you can't say you were doing right and getting bad results, you were doing wrong and getting typical results.
Calcium carbonate is indeed the wrong way to suppleemnt calcium. My recommendation is Cal-Mag Fizz for a good reason - it's the best, most bio-available form of calcium. If you can't find cal-mag fizz you should try to find smething that mimics it closely.
Anyone who takes ONLY calcium with none of its synergists (helpers) is potentially doing themselves harm, yes, but the post you're quoting is highly alarmist for no good reason. We do need calcium and we do need to supplement occasionally and this is not going to put boulders in our bloodstream if we do it right. Sheesh. Was that quote from Andreas? He thinks being anemic is the body's healthy response to malaria - as if Americans are constantly exposed to malaria! LOL! what a loon.
A combo of calcium citrate, calcium lactate, with other things is the best way to go if you can't find Cal-Mag Fizz. |

What is overdosing with calcium?
I've been taking two tablets of Solaray's calmagzinc (cant buy cal mag fizz for love nor money in the UK) about 4 times a week and dont really eat dairy. I assumed I had problems with deficiency and not otherwise.
I thought Cal Mag Zinc was primarily calcium carbonate!! Maybe I'll grab Solarays cal mag citrate next time instead?
I dont follow much on Curezone these days, but apparently Andreas cant work on Curezone anymore as he's too busy He did seem odd to me on there at times as well! Same with BH or MH, I dunno, some of the things he says dont seem *right* to me. I think he has a similar take on the organic vs. inorganic calcium thingy as that poster. Always disagreements!
Maybe those little white rocks are lack of EFAs as you suggested. But I have been trying very hard to use a wide complement of good oils correctly! |

| Since I don't know the amounts I don't know if that is overdosing. It has to be 500 mg or less. |
