Hello:)
Are Baked beans, unhealthy kind of food or considered a cheat? I don't mean the beans that have sugar and molasses and all that, just plain old for example, white beans that are in a can.
--And what are the safest best type of baked/canned beans to go for? White beans, Black beans, kidney, umm, sorry I'm not too smart about all the types of beans out there...if you could just tell me the ones to go for/ ones to stay away from, like when I can only buy the canned beans?
Oh, and are Refried beans always bad?
--And I know that there are some really good DRY beans, and they are healthy to always have, Yes? Never a cheat?
I only know of Mung Beans, since they are part of the Kichadi recipe. I'm so low in my knowledge of beans, so I hope I can mainly know the good from the bad & what is considered a Cheat, and what is safe to eat while Cleansing our bowels.
Okay well that's it now, Thank you! |

beans can better than just about any other food, so if you must eat from cans, eat beans.
However, most beans really are not all that healthy, so eat them because you like them, there's really no other reason! |

| They just don't offer much beyond fiber and calories, most have digestive byproducts that must be excreted via the kidneys, and they are difficult to digest. |

Do you mean all legumes like lentils also shelley?
In your opinion grains > legumes?
What would be a better more nutrient dense substitute for beans?
Thx shelley! |

You have to have grains and legumes together or you are not combining your foods properly. If you're only having one or the other, have rice as it is a better complement to other foods and has fewer digestive by-products.
Lentils are a legume. Beans are a legume. Lentils are slightly better than beans in some ways. |
