Hi Shelley:
Is the Vitamin C in Ester-C prodcuts (calcium ascorbate) and Emergen-C, gentle on the stomach? Are they similar?
Can 1,000 mg daily of Vitamin C cause kidney stones? I don't have and never had kidney issues, but am afraid that taking too much vitamin c could cause my body to form kidney stones.
Is flax seed fiber similar to flax seed oil? I can't get the oil version where I live, so I was wondering if fiber has the same benefits as oil when adding it to shakes or smoothies.
Also, what topical treatments do you recommend to apply to dry face skin?
Thanks for your help,
Roberto |

Hi Roberto,
both are buffered forms of vitamin c, so both should be very gentle on the stomach.

I really wouldn't worry about it. Even the most conservative people say that 500mg of vit c per day is fine, so 1000mg is only twice this. Many people take much higher doses without reporting side effects.

Flax seed contains the oil, but also fibre. Nutritionally it has the same benefits, but you might not be able to substitute them 1 for 1 in recipes - e.g. flax seed won't really go with the Shelley-shake.

Coconut oil! It can work wonders. |
