Hello dear all,
We are for some long time here, and there is no information about your personalities at all, and I've been seeing some of you almost every day in here, so I think its time to introduce yourselves and share little info about yourselves. It's amazing that this never came up before in the forums.
Who you are, what you do, where you live, how you found askshelley.com, what are your interest, likes/dislikes, professions, etc. Whatever comes to your mind.
Cheers.

Hi to all of us who are interested in our health!
I am Propaul and have been a member since the inception of this website.
Welcome to all new members. Just stick around and you may find a lot about your health and well being.
Who am I?
I am a male, just 79 years young (don’t ask me how old I am), retired or maybe semi-retired, computer application programmer also network designer, still get calls from my old clients.
I live in the San Francisco Bay area, single (divorced and widowed), have the same (female) roommate for over 10 years, two dogs. I enjoy searching the internet for the newest medical news. I prefer classical music but enjoy most all music. Go for walks with my dogs. Also to the movies. Like to cook and eat too.
So join us and learn about “us”, the human being. Our discussions are sometimes “shocking” to newcomers as we are very plain spoken and discuss many subjects tabooed in the so-called “polite society”.
Never be too shy to ask a question!
So once again WELCOME !

Hi Pixelnode,
I have posted my intro under your message. Prior to this I has posted it under the "Welcom" by Harmony.
Do you think we need a specific place where we can plunk our intros?
Also nice if the members would give us an idea where they live.
I also wish you have a text editor like Tiny Mite or similar with a spell checker. Would simplify life. I now write either with MS Word or Word Perfect and have to copy and paste into the message body.
Just some ideas. I am trying to anwer as many messages where I feel I am qualified. But just can't do what Shelley did!
Have a happy and peaful life.

Hello to all of you,
I guess it's time to introduce myself
I am 27 year old female, married no kids but have two dogs ( that you can see if you're interested in pet forum, under introduce your pet thread).
Originally I'm from Belgrade, but moved couple of years ago to Tel Aviv, to explore life here in the East a bit I am a bit of a wondering soul so who knows where I might end up in the near future. I like to keep my cards open, if you know what I mean
Since I was a kid, I couldn't sit still on one place, oh no.. One minute I'll be there and the other, who knows Because of that wondering nature of mine, I got to try many things as a kid, and kinda found myself in sports the most. As a child there wasn't an activity that I wouldn't, if not participate, than at least, tried.
Later on I got introduced to aerobics and fitness and that's where I am still.
In '99 my mother got her bypass surgery and that was the turning point for me. I started getting interested in health more as I wanted to help her recover the best way possible. Along the way I've discovered that I suffer from Candida and that was the time when I meet Shelley on the Cure Zone. She helped me a lot and opened a whole new chapter in my life.
I'll try to help others with the same issues that I was battling for the past years now.
Apart form sport being a good negative energy filter, I found walking and hiking with my dogs as successful as sport. We are going at lest one time a day for a long walk in the woods here nearby. I found it very refreshing and challenging at the same time. Dogs love it as well.
I would like to hear from all of you more. Tell us who you are, let’s talk about something else apart from cleansing and detoxing
have a great day

Hi Paul,
Not a problem at all.
My name is Dragan, and I was born in Serbia 26 years ago. At the moment located in Israel, but not definitely . Working as a web designer in perspective internet marketing agency in Tel Aviv, and as a part time art direction/consultant for design studio.
Very interested in web, design and various online ventures. Not so keen on diets, and healthy eating habits . At the beginning, my main motivation for askshelley.com was helping Shelley get her own place, after leaving curezone. Throughout the time, I came to love the community style and generosity of people on this site, and after Shelley's decision to depart, decided to keep site alive, because people deserve all the wealth of information in here. It would be very sad to let it disappear. So here I am, sleepless, working on features and strategies for our beloved site, and planning the actions to make it available to even more people in the future. Lately, I can say my time is consisted of working, working and working . But I love it. I do what I like, and I'm not complaining.
This was very brief summary of my life and interests, but I hope it will satisfy some of the questions raised. I am open for communication, so we'll have more opportunities.
Now, its time for me to rest a little.
Best regards,
Dragan |

Hi!
I am a student, graduating this year with a degree in Engineering (biomedical). I think I am going to go back to school though, and get some kind of certification in horticulture. I'm not sure that engineering is the path for me and I think I would much rather work outside in a nursery or such. I live in a condo with roommates so I have no pets, which I hate! But I have lots of plants which I adore. I live in central california but am a San Diegan native. I love all sports and mostly trying new things. New things I tried this summer were mountain biking, paintballing, and I got stung by a sting ray. They all hurt a little bit! I hope to travel one day, even if it means I have to work on a cruise ship. I love yoga.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity to share! |

Thanks Gemma, good to have you here.
What about others? We have 491 members at the moment and only 4 of them wanted to participate. Or you think this is not a good idea? |

I think this is a great idea! It makes a difference knowing something behind a screen name.
Although I don't post a lot, I visit this site almost every day. I used to enjoy reading what Shelley had to say. Always made great sense.
I am a 36 year old female with 3 kids ages 13, 12 and 9. I work in a family business out of my house and spend my free time researching health. I have a bachelors degree in business administration but wish I had one in alternative medicine or nutrition. I love reading this stuff.
I have genetic breast cancer in my family (mom and maternal aunt) and I was diagnosed at the age of 27. It was early stages so I am fine but the mastectomy changed my life. It is not easy to lose a breast in your 20's
I have a daughter so I research for her and also to keep myself as healthy as I can. I learned sooooo much from Shelley and incorporate a lot into my life. These alternative ways get $$$ but it is worth it.
I love to read about health issues because helping people is part of my personality. This site is great and I hope it stays |

Hi everyone!
I'm P-just plain old P. I'm 34 and single. I have a dog named Winston. He is like my child. I learned about Shelley from Curezone and from another poster on another message board I post on occasionally. I don't post much-just mostly read. I've been into cleansing and detoxing for almost 2 years now, and I still feel like a beginner. I'm kinda slow when it comes to doing stuff, plus I'm bad about procrastinating. But I'm getting there. I am an employee of the Federal government in the United States (AL). I've been there for almost 15 years. I am going to school full-time for a degree in Office Administration. I may try for a Paralegal degree, also, but that's still up in the air. Well, I guess that's about all.

Nice to meet you all, it's so nice to know little more besides the nick name.
Kamala, the post that you are referring was here for a while and was removed, as we were all feeling little sentimental about that. Never the less the whole community decided to go on with the site. It would be a pity to close it as so much people benefit from it.
all the best,

Hi everyone!
Im brand new here, just signed up a couple of minutes ago.I learned about this site from a member of another site called acne.org.
Im a 25 y/o female, born and raised in New Jersey, and Im still here.
I recently decided to go back to school, though it feels like Im starting all over, not picking up where I left off.I never did get far in school because of family and personal issues but once Im finished with my A.S. I would like to go on to study wildlife conservation, ecology,Im not sure exactly but something in that area.
I am currently looking for work but I do volunteer at a local animal shelter on the weekends.I love animals, obviously, hiking, cooking, being outdoors, dancing, photography and I love learning about the environment.Im always watching Nova and such,my friends make fun of me.
Anyway,Im very happy to be a part of this site and look forward to getting to know you guys better and learning a lot.
Thanks
Afi |
