I just bought some Bob's Red Mill with apples and cinnamon flavor. I am fairly new to this hot cereal stuff, so I am looking for some suggestions to make it taste better. The label suggests either honey or brown sugar with fruit. It also suggests to add in some milk. I added the fruit in but I didn't have any honey or sugar so it was........okay but nothing to write home about.

I know I would really like this if I can figure out how to make it taste better. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I like to add coconut oil, stevia, and a little bit of flax or ghee. You can also add cinnamon or rice milk/almond milk.

I don't mind my grains plain... but you might like a splash of organic grade B maple syrup on top and some cinnamon. If all else fails, chocolate chips are a nice treat! shh! I didn't say that Very Happy

I haven't tried the flavored ones yet, I've been happy with the plain. I simply add flax or butter, cinnamon, rice milk, and brown rice syrup because it has a fantastic flavor and is a nice change from maple syrup all the time. Smile

I guess I'm kind of weird because I just use butter and salt on the 7 or whatever number grain cereal I have. I'm also new to the hot cereal thing.

Besides Bob's Red Mill cereals, I really like Quinoa Flakes. Has anyone tried/heard of it before?

I just tried them last week and I was pretty happy with them. Kind of bland, but not in a bad way. Hearty and filling, an almost oatmeal texture. More filling than regular Quinoa, which is a very light grain, better for Kapha than Vata.
