Hi everyone,
Wondering what you all use / suggest for natural contraception.
Obviously the pill is out! So what's the best ? Just a good old condom?
What about interventions (tying fallopian tubes or whatever it is they do) should this be avoided? My guess would be avoiding intervention is best but am curious to know what you think?
I was watching my rythm, looking at the calendar and such for a while but i don't think this is going to reliable enough anymore. I get pregnant very quickly (lucky i suppose)
I'm pregnant with my third child. This is going to be the last so i want to be prepared.
Thanks for any advice and experiences |

Having your fallopian tubes tied is a wonderful way to go if you're certain-sure you're done with your childbearing years. It's a very safe and easy procedure, the only worry is the anesthesia. It is the ONLY way to be 100% sure, to never again have that worry.
Of course, I think the MAN should be the one to get tied - they don't have to go thru general anesthesia, and after we had the burden of contraceptives all those years, it's THEIR turn! LOL!
You can do very well with a combo of rhythm method, condoms (either male or female condoms) or rhythm in combo with the cervical plug (a better diaphragm - requires no spermicide). But surgery means no worries, no calendar, no tools.

I'd like to put in a plug for the sympto-thermal method, sometimes called the Billings method or natural family planning. It's very effective if done properly, and it will give you a real awe about the amazing female body!! You can google on any of those names.

I remember something called the Lady Comp, has anyone else heard of it? I saw it on 20/20 a long time ago, it's German, and it's some device that tells you your fertile days, and supposed to be as effective as the Pill if I remember right.

Yes, is that the thing you test your saliva with? I've always wondered about those...

I'm with Shelley - a tubal ligation is great when you're sure you don't want any more children. I'm very happy I did it...no more worries or hassles.
