Well so far I've managed to avoid most of the peanutty recipes. I use grapeseed oil now for high-temp or stir-fry cooking. I'll be sure to post one of my favorite dippy sauces and stif-fry in the Kitchen forum. |

Hi Shelley,
Your dosha test came through in my email this time. I scored a 12 for Vata and a 10 for Kapha (which means a 0 for Pitta). This would follow that you have determined I am a Vata with a Kapha imbalance and you have me following a Vata diet.
For the record, I am a Gemini with a Libra Moon and Aires rising. I have A negative blood.
As always, thank you!

Hi Invincible!
Can you do mine?
DOB: July 29, 1971 Leo
Place: Birmingham, Alabama
Time: Approximately 12:40PM (give or take 5 or 6 minutes)
Shelley,
When I did the Dosha test, I found that I fell into two categories on some of the questions. Is this normal?
My score:
Vata 6
Pitta 23
Kapha 13
On the questions where my answer fell into two of the categories, it was either Pitta or Kapha. I feel mostly like a Kapha, but as you see by my score, I am mostly Pitta. Why is this? The few questions that I was stumped on would not have changed my score. I would still be a Pitta mainly but with a lower score. My Kapha score would be higher but not higher than the Pita score. Make sense? |

Yep, that's normal. It's rare to be totally one Dosha all the way really. I'm lucky, I'm like totally vata in all ways heh, unless I get too depleted or congested and then I'm more like Kapha, which is a pain.
You could be a Pitta-Kapha, or a physical Pitta but mental Kapha, or vice versa. I'd have to see how you marked your answers to know for sure.
When you take the test, you're supposed to answer based on how you've been for most of your life. If something has changed recently, that could be the symptoms of your illness-dosha rather than your natal-dosha. |

Thanks to you both!
Shelley,
I'm going to take the test again b/c I think some of my answers were a combo of how I've been most of life along with how I am now.
Thanks again!

it will be published online someday soon. Until then you can e-mail me at: editor#askshelley.com and I'll reply with a copy of the test. |

I deticated a couple hours last evening to doing tohe dosha profile test here, and several others that someone was kind enough to post links here.
I'm all over the place.
I think the timing of the test and 'where' I'm at is definately squewing my results. Lack of positive energy and strength of spirit.
I'm 5 11"
wide shoulders,
long limbs,
big boobs,
blonde,
big eyes (blue)
I don't use a scale but I'm DD cup and size 10 jeans.
round face,
round chin and nose,
fair skin- normal moisture but dry hands.
thin nails,
small but healthy teeth.
fairly active not sweaty.
I don't care for humidity. nor very hot , nor very cold
my hands get cold in winter.
Normal daily personality.
warm spoken,
confident in work duties
confident speaker steady
I like the people interaction part of work the most
organized
but good at procrastinating sometimes
I'm good at budgeting with my limited budget
When overwhelmed with crisis I have anixety, and can lose my normal calm and patience
food wise. I am a starch lover at heart
my old standards -
pastas - rice- cheese - cookies - tuna - hot breads (now limited)
couldn't care less for any meat
could go a lifetime and never want ice cream or a potato
favorite garbage food. (hint of lime Tosditos) salts of jujubs (sweet or sour)
now I am mostly fruits in the am - veggie dominant in the evenings with a smattering of grains with eggs here and there.
poops - loose- frequent - mucous tendancy
Sleep wise - I don't get enough. 5 hrs approx most nights. It's been that way for 5 yrs. As I age I see I'm starting to need more. That is a forced situation due to commuting and home (working at finding something suitable closer to home.)
I think my emotional issues (crisis's) are extreme - on the whole in normal life which is pretty stressful regularly I do well.
Do you think I should wait a month or so .. for things to calm down a bit then redo the profiles? |

| It sounds to me like you are innately a Kapha, but with emotions and such tend to be more Vata. And if you are low energy, that could be either high-kapha or low-vata. So definitely read up on pacifying Kapha because that will help the low-energy issue, and being cold. Yet at the same time, read what balances Vata emotionally. Follow the emotional/activity recommendations but not the diet, such as essential oils, massage, meditation. |
