Mung beans are pretty safe for everyone, altho blood type guidelines do say some people should avoid it. Sigh.
Asoefitida (sp?) is a really odd spice, much like a mild garlic, or a cross between garlic and shallots, comes in a yellowish ground powder. I found it at the health food store and tried to use it, but it really disagreed with me and the rest of my family, and I didn't like the taste as much as garlic, so I never bothered with it again. Just use garlic in its place and the recipe will be fine. |
