Hi Shelley,
I have been posting in the Cleansing forum, and then realised I had a larger question that may have some bearing on my well-being.
I was born due to the Solar eclipse on February 26, 1979. My mother was planned to have C-section in early March, but as soon as she started watching the eclipse, she felt the labor pains, and they took me via C-section that evening:8:07 p.m. The only reason she had a C-section is that she had a prior one with my sister, and it was just protocol that if you had one c-section then subsequent births would be thus as well. No other reason for c-section.
I was just wondering if this has any bearing on the journey I am embarking on...the one for Health and Balance. I am a novice at Doshas, and just learning to educate myself on this and other eastern health practices. But from what I can tell, it looks as though I have a 'split' dosha. Is that possible? I test and my scores say I am Kapha/Pitta, and when I read up on the two, it's as though my Mental is Pitta and my physical is Kapha...does that make sense to you? Do you think the events surrounding my birth have anything to do with this?
I know this is a very involved post, and if you'd rather refer me elsewhere I would be happy to comply.
Thanks in advance,
Sara

Hi Sara! What fun questions! Smile

Yes, it is possible, and in fact, normal and common, to be a combined dosha and to have one physical dosha and a different mental dosha. All very usual and actually easier to deal with in many ways than being a true, single dosha. Of course a pure Vata has to do much less reading, but will be plagued with Vata imbalances all the time. A Kapha/Pitta person doesn't tend to have all of the Kapha problems to the same severity as a pure Kapha person, so that's nice. Smile

Consider people like Rodney Dangerfield. Definitely a Kapha body, but his mind is all Vata! very quick and agile.

An eclipse does have an effect on people, and we do have the positions of the planets (our natal chart) embedded in our DNA. It's part of how we anchor ourselves to the single, limited earth experience while part of us (the Soul and Higher Self) is beyond time and beyond this single incarnation. I'm not sure how an eclipse effects the natal chart (I only dabbled in astrology), but when they come up everyone is forced to face something they've been putting off. They're a type of kick in the butt for those of us who resist change.

The timing of one's birth is rarely a mistake! These types of things are meticulously planned.

Smile
