Shelley, is fish allowed during the cleansing phase (months 1-3) of the diet? My mom makes this awesome king fish curry. All she uses is the king fish, red pepper, cayene pepper, garlic, and ginger. Is that allowed? I know you included in the Foods Allowed section of the FAQ, but the thing is that I'm not sure how the fish is raised...meaning if it's pumped with chemicals and steroids, or if it's raised naturally. Also, I know there has been recent reports about salmon absorbing and retaining toxins and pollutants from the water. Because of this, do you think it's better to stay away from fish during the cleanse?

Thanks.

It depends on the kind of cleanse you're doing, but local, wild fish is something we all need in our diets from time to time, definitely. Check against your blood type too. If your "fast" is not a low-protein fast, then fish is fine.
