Rice cakes are in the FAQ under Diet management - foods you may think are good for you and are in fact bad.
Most crackers use the wrong kind of fats. Check the labels, you'll see partially hydrogenated soy and cottonseed oil. Unless you make your own crackers, best to avoid most of the time. I occasionally enjoy crackers made by a company called something like Essene as they're very clean, made Kosher. You can find them at Albertson's, in a white and blue box.
The other problem with crackers is they denature the grain proteins with truly high heat. No real nutritional value once that happens.
I occasionally eat water-packed and olive oil packed albacore, but only canned from sources I trust. Convenience foods usually get the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality, so then you risk mercury contamination. |
