Hi Shelley,

I have jagged edges to my tongue, which I have seen you talk about in some posts. What does this typically indicate?

Thanks,
Shawna

If a person has while coating on their tongue that is patchy and thick in places but seems less one day and more another (while following an anti-Candida) does this MOST CERTAINLY indicate Candida or is there other conditions and bodily reasons for a coated tongue?

I just posted how to do Tongue Analysis in the fAQ under health management. Smile

The coat is not always candida, in fact it's more often what we call Ama, or toxins from undigested or only partially digested foods. Ama is what clogs us up and starts the slow process of looking and feeling miserable and dying young. if you can keep your tongue free of a coat, you'll keep your energy high. The trick is to eat right for your digestion and do things to increase the power of your digestion.

The tongue is made up of the same tissue as the rest of the digestive system, so what you see is pretty much what's going on with your small and large intestine. If you have jagged cracks, and not just that single line bisecting the tongue that most people have, then you have a dry, irritated condition in the bowels. This is common when cleansing cuz cleansing can irritate, but if you're not cleansing and see this, it means you're eating foods that are harsh, cold, really not friendly to the intestines.

To cure, take a fiber supplement that has marshmallow, slippery elm, aloe vera (not the gel tho), cayenne, eat mostly cooked and very moist or oily foods like Kichadi and veggie soups and pasta, eat "slimy" foods like okra.
