4 months ago I took one capsule of 250mg Rhodiola Rosea from Natures Way and a dropper full of Wild Oats Mushroom Defense containing Shitake ,Reishi, Maitake, Astragalus root and Licorice Root. About 25 minutes later I had spasms and twitching going from my toes to my glutes, now I have the twitching and uncontrollable movements in my ankles ,feet and toes all the time except when I am sleeping.

Wild Oats said to see a accupuncturist and Nature's Way said it was my problem and that there herbs are safe with no complaints. Neither company offered to pay to treat the problems caused by their products and I do not have health insurance. I take no prescriptions or birth control no caffeine. This has been a problem for four months I can't even drive a car what can I do. Please help.

Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Now, what was the original reason you took them to begin with? Were you having health issues such as depression or reduced immunity? Were you taking anything else at the time?

Please read the "how to get help" post in the first forum, the more information I have, the better I can help you. Smile You can post your info here in this thread or e-mail it to me at editor@askshelley.com.

The doctor recommended Mirapex which is also used for Parkinson's.
Do you know of any natural remedies?

Restless leg syndrome? Oh dear I thought that was a myth, at least, a myth in the sense that it's not a disease so much as severe nutritional deficiencies. A lack of good diet, good oils, etc., can cause nerve damage over time. Candida can cause nervous system symptoms. A lack of calcium or incorrect ratio to phosphorus and magnesium will certainly cause jumpy legs. A lack of tryptophan too. But modern medicine never considers nutritional deficiencies. How'z your diet been? Standard American?

About 6 weeks before these symptoms occured I had a fall which resulted in some trauma to my feet and ankles. They were swollen for 6 weeks, then the tremors occurred. I had a complete battery of tests done with an internist and he said everything was fine. Other doctors said it was PTSD or psychosomatic. I also tried homeopathic remedies for 3 months with no positive results. And yes, sadly I have been raised and lived in the US all my life where good healthy food without toxic ingredients is often difficult to obtain. And the more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know.

Don't bother with homeopathy, the principle that it's based on really only works on a very few illnesses.

Have you consulted with a chiropractor? The fall could have caused a spinal subluxion, which would put constant pressure on a major nerve, leading to many other symptoms where the nerves branch out to extremeties etc. No regular md would find that or even look for that, sigh. You should get your nerves checked for conductivity. A chiro or physical therapist could do that easily. Well worth it.

Next you ought to do a major cleanse down to the cellular level. There could be all kinds of deposits left behind due to constriction and poor circulation from the swelling.

Start drinking my Cleansing Drink adding just a quarter teaspoon of baking soda, right away. Recipe in FAQ. Read up on how to cleanse and detox (FAQ and main pages and sticky posts), and also how to tonify (nourish), particularly what I call Skin Food, plus Emergen-C and Cal-Mag Fizz.

Hope that helps! Smile
