Hi Shelley! Hope all is well with you!

I had a question concerning probiotics. I was using Udo's Adult Probiotic but it's not enteric coated. Would the good germies still make it to my stomach after passing all the acids? Or should i switch to a probiotic that is enteric coated? Your response will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Smile

Probiotics vary enormously in quality. I would go by whether it is actually doing you any good or not. If you can notice a difference it is a good product - if you can't it is a bad product.

I'd go for the Primal Defense. Just bought a 180 cap bottle for $30 on eBay. I have a question too. Are HSOs the same as regular friendly bacteria? I've been supplementing with Fiber Wisdom (Inulin fiber) and I just want to know if it feeds the HSOs. Thanks!

I'd also recommend Primal Defense. I feel much better now that I'm this Probiotic. It's a little pricey, but lasts a long time (I bought the powder stuff).

We have two classes of friendly microbes: the soil based organisms (Primal Defense) and the residents such as bifidus and acidophilus.

SBO's will help the residents much the same way as an army will defend other colonies. The SBOs come in, kill a bunch of bad guys, clear out a lot of garbage, and overall make things nicer for the residents.

Most probiotic supplements do not actually populate the gut, unfortunately. The best investments into probiotics are usually:

1. live refrigerated acidophilus/bifidus, whichever one is the freshest - ask the store clerk whihc was most recently stocked, or which sells the most so has the highest turnover.

2. Garden of Life products have a patented delivery system that works for SBO's.

3. Spectrum has a patented containment and delivery system for the residents that actually works.

4. Kefir and yogurt, either eaten or used as an enema implant. If you get colonics, ask your colonicst if she can implant acidophilus. It's really great and usually pretty cheap.

5. Other fermented foods still raw and alive. Bragg's or Spectrum's ACV, sauerkraut, etc.
