Hi Shelley,
I've read a few different places that oily skin can be sign of liver congestion...Is this true? I have very, very oily skin (skin is like an oil slick 3 hours after washing face) and enlarged pores. Could liver flushing help with the excessive oil secretion and enlarged pores? Can other measures be taken to help reduce the oil and pore size?
Thanks.

Absolutely. It's up to the liver to digest fats, and if it doesn't do our job they end up elsewhere where they do not belong. It's also up to our thyroids. So either being out of whack can create oily skin. If it's mostly your forehead that's oily that's definitely liver.
I've found that a combo of peppermint tea, lecithin and ACV/Cleansing Drink while avoiding hydrogenated oils and instead getting my oils mostly raw as wheat germ oil or cod liver has greatly reduced my oily skin problem. Currently I'm not even having to do lecithin, but as soon as I eat a bag of potato chips it comes back with a vengeance for a day or two. |
